Gingerale. AI open borders seems to be fixed. Also the cheat involving negotiations and taking AI cities and techs by clicking what will make this deal work and the ok error popup. I'll go over the list and see what else I can determine. The new patch plus nvidia updated drivers makes my videos worse, I now have video skipping where before I only had sound skipping. I will try older drivers and see how that works. Also, as with any driver updates, sometimes you need to reinstall the game so I will try that.
Again, to those having issues, make sure you delete your old drivers before upgrading to new drivers, run a program like ccleaner to remove old files and drivers still lingering, defrag your drives, check your memory for issues with a program like sandra.

Bug: Can't type in textboxes open over main map screen.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to save the game
2. Click on default name of save game
3. Try to type a new name for the save game
4. Units that you have selected will begin to respond to hotkey letter commands such as F=fortify or S=sentry
5. Also happens when trying to chat in multiplayer or any other open textbox over the main map screen

Doesn't seem to happen all the time.

see this thread.

Thought I'd mention it still is broken in 1.09:

Production que saving/loading for buildings loads units not buildings!

Victory Movie Bug - Victory movies do not play (Version 1.09) They played fine on version 1.00

Steps to reproduce:

1. Win game via, Domination, Conquest, Culture, or Space
2. Victory Movie begins
3. Victory movie music plays, but video hangs
4. You can hit escape to end movie and continue with your victory summary and replay
5. Victory movies play fine outside of game when run in RadVideo

I got a near endgame CTD... the colors are all mixed up and the resolution is very low... where can I see the logfile???

This was the case for both 1.00 and 1.09... except 1.09 was a bit worse because of the distorded desktop...

Bug or Feature? The game doesn't recognize a conquest victory acheived befor 3560BC until end-of-turn 3560BC.

To reproduce, play a game with the following settings:
Denniz_3560_game_settings.JPG

The AI should be near. If you head in the right direction, you should be able to just walk into his city before he builds a warrior. (It might take you a few trys, though.)

I have attached a zip file with the autosaves and a screenshot taken the turn of the actual victory of a game where this happenned. I have done it 3 times.

UPDATE: If you don't found your city by 3560 you lose by conquest. So that means they implemented "lose even if you have a settler" in such a way that they had to delay testing for conquest until after an arbitrary date so you wouldn't lose by moving you settler a little bit.

Forgive me... what video card do you have? When does the game crash? How much Ram do you have? Have you run system tests, ie memory, hard drive? Try running CCleaner, and disk defrag etc... This game is a monster on resources with so much going on. My game runs smooth with my setup, currently playing 18 civs on large map, in the year around 1860.

i'm sure a few people are having trouble w/ incorrect drivers and low end hardware...

but after reading a lot of posts on this forum it seems the 2k Games has some major programming flaws in their release of this game.

I just finished playing 2 games(half life2 and FEAR) that are complete performance hogs and had zero issues playing near maximum detail levels.

but Civ 4 crashes every time I play it.

here is my rig's setup
GFORCE 6800 GT 256 MEG
P4 3Gz
1 Meg Ram
111 Gig hard drive space free

It seems the crashes happen more frequently after the 1000 AD timeframe.

Has anyone heard of a timeframe on a new patch?

MarcAntiny,
Thank you for your quick response. first all of the system cleaning is done every two weeks. i disk defraged and got ride of temp files friday. my compute has 1024 m ram. my video card is a nVidea. the processor is an AMd Athlon XP 2400+, the processor is a GeForce FX 5200 with 256 mb memory.
I started the game and had no problems until around the year 1700. i have played the game for just under 5 hours. then it started to crash. it shuts down the game. i have even had the game turn off my computer. i have called tech support several times. they have given me a run around and given me the old tech trick try this and call back if it does not work. it did not. my game will play for maybe a turn, sometimes less and turn off. help please...

I guess I have the same "freezing" problem that the others have complained of. During the early game I have no problems, but at around 1500-1800AD the problems begin. Each AI turn lasts for minutes. When I wanted to look f.e. Military Advisor, it took over 5 minutes to load that screen. I should have powerful enough system. I tried by lowering graphic details but it doesn´t help.

What can I do?

I have installed the new path, but it doesn´t remove the problems. I have configured windows settings but it doesn´t help either. I don´t know much about computers but I wonder how it is possible that if I look running processes before playing CIV, they take about 150M memory and when playing Civ, it should take less than 300M more so it should total at around 450M instead of ca. 1000M that my computer takes memory when playing Civ. So it seems that Civ uses three times that ca. 300M memory what it should use?

Like I said, I don´t know much about computers so could someone bit wiser tell me is that normal and if it´s not, how can I solve the problem? Or have I just to wait for new path that will MAYBE help?

Sorry for all of writing errors, I´m from Finland ;)

Wonder Pre-req building bug. (might have been mentioned). IE the Colossus requires a forge. (I did not try and complete the wonder).

Click the forge to add to the the build queue, shift/click the wonder to have it be built after the forge is done, click the forge in the queue to remove and the city starts building the wonder without the forge being built.

The only dif I see between my system and yours is I have 2GB of Ram. Same vid card, virtually same processor. I'm not sure if the ram makes that much more dif. I'd also have my Virtual Memory set rather high. I have plenty of disk space so try to up yours if you can. Go to System properties Advanced Tab, Performance settings, Advanced Tab, virtual Memory and set it to custom size, I use 4095MB as you can see in this screenshot. If this works, let me know.

ALSO GUYS, since this thread is for bug reporting and not fixes, try this thread, I found quite a few suggestions on here and many users say they have worked http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=135231
