Bug : Using Great People for science

While playing C-iv GOTM01, I use a great merchand in order to discovery Communism and at the end of turn, I do not had the information you've got when you discovered a new tech. I check the science advisor and Commism was not discovered........
Same problem when I used a great scientific in order to discover Fligh .


Have you notice this ?
Please help!

For the more expensive Techs such as Communism, the great people only give you ~1500 beakers instead of the whole tech. Perhaps it was that, it should have said in the tooltip for the GP.

That high up on the tech tree, it is rare for a great person to help get a tech completely, since rechs are very expensive at that point.

I did not know.
Indeed, when I research Communism, I had only 2 turns to achieve the research!!!

Perhaps it was that, it should have said in the tooltip for the GP.
Yes -- when you do the mouseover to see what tech you can research, it will say "XXXX beakers towards Flight" or whatever. (The same is true when an engineer won't complete a wonder)
