Bugged Event?

I just received an Event (I set the option for double the number of them) about my governor got assassinated but the gardener saved his 12 yr old son. I'm then presented with 4 options but when I mouse over them there is no projected outcome for any of them. I've had events before and theres usually an outcome I can intelligently choose.

Is this a bug where the outcomes should be visible but aren't or does it just not matter what you choose?

It is hidden intentionally so that you have to attempt to judge the man by what information was given, and hopefully make the right decision.

I've only had that event a very few times. I am not positive, but I think the correct answer is random each time. I seem to recall answering once for a positive result, and again in a different game using the same answer and getting a negative. It might be tied to faction, but I think it is just random.

Ah, thanks for that bit of info. With it, perhaps I will get the correct answers for that event figured out eventually.

Well, I was Savaltafar (sp), the evil Elves, and I was going for AV but hadn't reached it yet. I answered the event as "Let the church choose the next governor." and I got some happiness and perhaps something else, I couldn't really tell.

As I recall, that event only gave temporary happiness. In other words, another useless event. I suppose the unhappiness from making a bad guess is a nice detriment, but where's the flip side? Having extra happiness gives you nothing except in rare, convoluted situations that I have never been in.

Ah, I'd always figured it was a random thing with no hints, tying it to civics choices (gov't in this case)is a pretty cool twist. I imagine that could be the inspiration for other sorts of events in suggestion threads and the like. Good stuff.

Like being in a long war? I had generous WW in all my cities last game, and a temp +1 came in handy.
I probably wasn't playing optimally, but for what it's worth I found the temp happy useful.
