Did you have the required techs before settling or did you just use your 1st settler to test?

I've found this too. Once I was trying to find my way to a wedding, so I stopped and asked a banana for directions. It told me to turn left and then right, but when I tried this I ended up on the motorway going in the wrong direction.

On the plus side, I still made it to the wedding in time, no thanks to that banana.

To show what i mean , i took 3 screenshots. The cow have 3 food. but somehow the sheep and the deer doesn't when their text says the same thing as cow.

sheep and deer are on a low food tile, not on plains. that's why.
