Burlicconi's PBEM game, FULL

We have been talking for a while, but now it's official;)

Participants, in the turn order, are:

1)Burlicconi: Hayana Capac (Inca) GMT + 1

2) Unkle: Tokugawa (Japan) GMT + 2

3)Shifty: Montezuma (Aztec) GMT - 5

4) Indovinelo: Mansa Musa (Mali) GMT -7

5) Slaze: Victoria (England) GMT - 8

6) Shogu: Justinian I (Byzanty) GMT + 1

Last relevant turn: 3360 to shogu

This will be PBEM game for 5-7 players, and we are searching for 1-3 players more. Settings are listed below, and some details are left for discussion.

* Version: BTS 3.13
* Difficulty Level: Noble
* Map: Fractal
* Size: Standard
* Climate: Temperate
* Sealevel: Medium
* Era: Ancient
* Speed: Normal
* Victory types permitted: All
* Game Turn Limit: 0
* City Elimination Limit: 0
* AIs: None


In- game preferences:

* Tech Trading: On
* Barbarians: ON
* Goody Huts: ON
* Vassal States: NO
* Random Events: YES



This game will last months, so if you don't have patience, please don't start.
In order to make game as quick as we can, we'll try to make optional player's turn schedule. So, every player must write his time zone. If you don't know which time zone is yours, THIS will be very helpful.
This game is planed to play about one turn per day. Of course, if it can be quicker, it's great. The best way to do this is to play your turn immediately when you receive the save. If you can, of course. We all have our private life and it's quite reasonable that we sometimes will not be able to play our turns for hours, even days sometimes, but when we can, play it immediately ;)

If we all show good interest, maybe some multiplayer session will be organized, which will much increase the game speed.

*Like all good and honest players :D we will make some pre- game deals.
For example, you can not contact leader if you don't meet him in the game. This is to make things naturally.

*Also, if two civs are in war, they can not gift cities to any third party. This is to avoid the scenario when player A is very close to capture city from player B and then player B gift his city to player C who isn't in war.

*No war for first 20 turns!
And, after declaration of war and eventually peace, players which were in war can not trade tech between themselves for next X turns.

*If some player thinks that he can add some new deal, please feel free to share your thoughts with us ;)

ok well i'm going to get all this started, here is my votes for this game.

Tech Trading: yes

Vassal States: no

OK, i started the game. I will send save file to Unkle now.
I send you ll PM with e-mail address of the next player.
BUT, it's much easier to send save file via game, but you you need to know your smtp server. I already filled all emails, you just need to go to Your Deatils-> smtp server[\B] and put yours there. After done that, every turn can be send within the game.
Also, the first time you receive save file, you will be asked for password. I haven't put any password in it, so you choose whatever you want, but remember that chosen password will be until the end of the game (how smart I am ;p)

looks like we got our first problem. looks to me like we have a patch conflict. Atillathewin if i wer you i would check that you have the newest patch. check my post on the other thread if you don't know how.

p.s. can we post on this thread when we send after our turn?
 
O course, you can post when you send save file, and if we make a small delay, I will update last relevant turn on the first page....

About patch conflict- It was said that version is 3.13. Atillathewin, you must update your version to 3.13. it's not a big deal at all, just in the game menu go to ADVANCE->CHECK FOR NEW VERSION
 
If save is at Atilla, Unkle must already played his turn?
probably we will know tonight, but I'm sure that Atilla just needs to update to latest patch...
 
I had very long chat with Atilla last night, and he has some strange problems...
I don't know how to solve it, sometimes problem is in patch, sometimes in .dll files, and it's very annoying....
I hope Atilla would solve it soon, if not this game will not continue... '(

what? i mean i would like to see atilla play with us, but if he's having problems lets not just scrap the hole game!
 
Well, if Atilla can not play, we can always start a new game.
When Atilla fixes his patch or something, we will continue our game...
I would like from other users their opinions about this problem...
If we agree, I can start a new game soon, maybe even tonight?
 
well hold one, Burlicconi is the only one that knows whats going on. what did he try already? did he try totaly uninstalling all of civ, rebooting. then reinstalling and then patching? i don't know exactly how civ runs, but this NORMALY will fix problems of this kind. but again i don't really know what the problem is, so it is kind of guess work.

if all that fails i have a really good reg cleaner (windows only) that might also help. the only problem is that i don't really see Atillathewin post to much or for very long so i don't know if we will go all this time helping him for him to just leave after 20 turns.
 
Atilla has some strange problem. It said that he already has patched to version 3.13, but in the game menu->about this build says he is 3.01 version. When he tries to load PBEM save, it says that versions don't match, and when he tries to load single- player- save that I sent to him, it calls for .DLL error. I googled for a while, but I can no find anything "revolutionary" , and I really don't know what's wrong. Maybe some stuff with his directX settings, but I'm not such confident as I was before.
We'll wait until tomorrow, to hear some news from Atilla, and finally make decision...
