Would it be possible to manufacture an "Army" mod?

Here's what I propose.... instead of creating unit after unit after unit... we manufacture entire armies.

All ground based armies revolve around the infantryman in some way shape or form. Always have. We can pursue similar paths with the airforce and the navy if we desire...

Here's how it works:

Our newly minted "City" back in 4100 BC would create an "Army" instead of a Warrior". It would effectively be identical to a warrior. However, as we progressed the items that would normally upgrade our warrior (such as iron, copper, etc) would become bonuses to our Army. If we discovered copper we would be able to manufacture a "Copper" upgrade at our city that would give our Army +5% to combat... if we discovered Iron we could manufacture an Iron upgrade that would provide our Army with a +10% to combat.

The discovery of Horses would give our Army a Cavalry bonus useful against Armies without Cavalry.

Each successive military upgrde, right up to modern armor and mobile infantry could be defined by this "Bonuses" system.

But there's one more addition i;'m proposing.

A "military" slider. I'm not even certain it would be possible, it'd be a challenge that's for certain...

The military slider would act as a means to continuously invest in your armies improvement via commerce rather than production. It represents a nation accumulating more troops, training them better, providing them more nuanced gadgetry and so forth.

Remember how our Army started out with a piddily what is it... i think warriors do a base 2 or 3? the Military Slider would continuously act to increase that rating... each turn it would increase the militaries effectiveness by a percentage of a point.

The goal is that if you were investing 100% from day one that your end result would be around 40 by the time you hit the modern era...
