Has anyone else had any problems with DDS Converter 2 turning their buttons blue when it converts them to .dds? Am I doing something wrong? I don't have PSP or any other program to make buttons in. I used a simple and very old photo shop program I have to make the .jpg and then converted it and she came out blue in the face. Maybe she was holding her breath in the converter. I don't know.

This is the leaderhead I am trying to make a button for if anyone can help me out. As you can see I had no problem getting the larger .jpg to convert to .dds using DDS Converter 2.

Try using either Gimp, or Paint.net. Both are free. Paint.net has an easier interface, but gimp is more customizable.

For gimp you'll need the dds plugin from here. follow the instructions in the zip to install it after installing gimp itself.

Paint.net will run dds on install, but you may need to install .net framework 2.0 if you don't have it or a higher version yet. You can get 2.0 here, but it's a 22mb dl...

Whichever one you use, make sure you save as dxt3, and with no mipmaps.

Thanks for the reply! While I was waiting, I found another converter called Image Converter Plus that converted the same .jpg just fine, so it must have been DDS Converter 2 that was causing the problem.

I have Gimp now though, so maybe it will shorten the button making process for me. Again, thanks!
