Update 1.1.1 Patch Notes - March 25, 2025

This is Continents (no plus), note the interesting map layout and the sensible city placements!! (EDIT: You can't see it from the map but the two Northernmost of my settlements were the Askum Empire - together with a 3rd well placed city they lost to IPs lol)
This would have been a typical Fractal map before the patch.

Yes, I've seen mostly methodical blobbing but they don't hesitate to settle in cleverly annoying spots if necessary.

Am I correct in thinking this is new?

Decided to make my own dreams come true - Commander name randomizer coming soon using the Civ6 name pools:

Also building out an option to pull from CitizenNames instead and add a rank prefix (e.g. Field Marshal Antonio). But unfortunately will require providing CitizenNames for most civs, as very few of them have any.

I will say it can be difficult to win in time in some configurations. I admit I had a bad game, or perhaps the leader/civs were weak. I was playing Amina with Khmer, Songhai, and Buganda. I really struggled to get science/culture rates up. And let's be real, these are the 2 most important yields. While I could get a economic victory in time, the other victories were out of reach in the allotted time with epic speed and longer ages.

Good to hear that challenge has been fixed.

Still a bug where a quest assigns you to build a unit you can't build. I'm playing Majahapit and I'm getting a quest to build 3 galleons which I can't build.

edit: okay it's more of a ui issue. I did complete the quest with the final upgrade to my cetbangs. Confusing they call it galleons when it's actually tier 3 cetbangs.

I had this issue when there was a quest to build a man at arms, knight and crossbowman I think. I couldn't build one of them due to my unique unit. I swear I upgraded, but now you have me wondering if I didn't upgrade to the equivalent.

Oh, so they have nerfed Maya? And meantime forgot to nerf Ada's lvl9 Memento (15% of tech and civic masteries into hammers in capital), while also they have added Bulgaria (50% pillage cost into hammers in all cities, while also having tradition of increasing pillage yields).
If you haven't noticed yet, how powerful Bulgarian traditions are in modern, just give it a try.

Can anything be more broken than Ashoka the conqeuror (or Hatshepsut for peacuful players) of Maya> Bulgaria > Great Britain/Prussia in terms of production?

Of course while rebalancing modern, still nooane noticed, that manhattan unlocks nuclear weapon AND operation Ivy, which makes nukes basically non existing in the game.
Is this "no nukes" policy because of forgeting to add Gandhi to the game? (as well as Shaka and Monte, the remaining members of the Civ Holy Trinity)

Re Nuclear Weapons. They really need to change it so that
Manhattan gives you a nuclear weapon… and unlocks them for everyone
Operation Ivy is unlocked by using a nuclear weapon on an enemy settlement.

As for Ada…it’s only in the Capital.

Why it works the current way is confusing, the odds of the AI ever being able to get nukes to retaliate seem really low - unlocked once and then unlocked for everyone makes much more sense.

Since the Manhattan Project gives you a free nuke you'd still be advantaged by being the one to build it, although a 10% production bonus towards them or smth and restricting it to be a wonder that can only be built once might be useful.

Nukes should not be depandent how many settlements you conquer. Nukes should be unlocked by tech

While the current system isn't perfect, it's better that militaristic power is less tied to how scientifically advanced you are imo. Also personally I like having a more engaging way to unlock nukes than just waiting until I inevitably research them, and it makes it possible to unlock them faster than if they were right at the end of the tech tree (at which point you'd be close to the era end)

I’d maybe think about using nukes if they unlocked halfway through the legacy path. With nukes unlocking at the same time of your victory project you’d have to purposefully delay your victory to get to use them.
