OK, WTH is this about?

bystander has 1 post, shown here, but their post count is 0?

I hope PC isn't turned off for the MP forum!

Just to see for myself, I actually went looking for that thread in MP. Gosh, you're right.

The PC in MP hasn't been disabled; didn't notice any drop in my own PC (I have some 100s posts there). ;)

Well, if you didn't notice them go on your PC you wouldn't notice them come off. ;)

I have posts in there too, but since when does anyone check their PC before and after posting?

Edit: I just did a search on someone with 7 posts, they have 3 in MP and 4 in GD, so the PC is working fine...

I think it's a little bug in the forums that doesn't register your first post until your 2nd. I noticed it with mine when I first joined.. So, your true post cound is your post count + 1.

I don't think so CT, I did a search on someone with a PC of 7, and doing a search gave me links to 7 posts, in GD and MP only.

Maybe it takes the 2nd post before it realises, or maybe there is a lag for the first one...

Edit: Just checked a couple more, and it appears that PC is normally a true count of posts.

Rats! you beat me to it! I blame it on the server busy errors and two IE crashes. :yeah:

But, I also have a screenshot!! :D

I was gonna show that same picture! What's up with that?

Hmm, could it be that there's a feature that doesn't count duplicate posts? :hmm:

We care because some people (me included) just need to know why things happen the way they do and why things go wrong.

Why do you care why we care?! :p

One could just as easily ask, "If you don't care, why did you bother posting here?" ;)

Curiosity is human nature, we like to understand things...

Hmm, at first I didn't see the smiley (it took a while to load), and I thought you were saying it represents invisibility. ;) But now I see.

I don't want to thread-jack that smiley discussion... :s :p
but:
There might be postcount problems when you hit that "interrupt" (or whatever it's called) button on your browser while transmitting replies. Once I did that *by accident* (didn't use that feature "click here, if your browser...") because I couldn't wait any longer as the server seemed to be very busy. My reply was posted in the thread, but I wasn't *automatically* subscribed there. I didn't observe my postcount, but based on the missing subscription, I'm guessing it didn't go up by one then.

Hmm, do pbem forum posts count toward pc? In the demogame rpg we had a character that would post a lot, but those posts didn't count towards his pc... so he was stuck at 0 posts ever since pc was disabled. If you'd do a search on his posts, you'd find all his posts.

So, if you can find posts it doesn't mean they count ;) But this does sound more like some bug.
