C2C won't load on my new windows laptop

I have a brand new windows laptop with 6gb of ram and windows 8 and i get dumped back to my desktop whenever i try to load the mod.

I have a mac which i have been playing c2c for weeks on, which only has 2gb of ram and i'm running c2c through a winewrapper and it works great. Have i forgotten to install something on my laptop?

Probably the v3.19 patch.

I have the same problem. It is probably caused by me having Civ4 Complete, but the fixes I found on this forum don't help me, as they are directed to Windows Vista users.

Have you applied the v3.19 patch by hand? The in game updater does not work, you need to down load it and install it yourself.

i am having the exact same issue.

i have a dell laptop with 6 gigs of ram, 64 bit win8, core i5 processor at 1.80 (clocks at 2.20)

when i boot c2c threw any means, desura, load-a-mod button, and directly launching by redirecting the exe in the mods/caveman2cosmos folder to reflect the pathway complete edition installs to but i get the same issue every time.

after about 30 seconds the civ4 process is closed. ive waited 20 min and still nothing happens.

i am running the complete edition.

i get no error message.

i cant run the 3.19 updater - its data came with the complete edition and is already installed.

suggestions???????

The 3.19 patch here may differ from what they consider the 3.19 data already installed. Find the patch here and apply 'by hand' as DH has suggested.
