C3B Election Fun! II: Prelude to War

This term coming turn if the transitional term between the downfall of the alliance and war. The current situation is grim for a peace lover. War can be guarantied within the next 30 turns. This is for a few reasons:

First off, C3B has unified. There are no more political parties in a major sense. They still are divided in some issues, but remain for the most part fixed on one subject: Fanatica must fall. After the Joker deal, many of them hate us, and those on the fence have gone over. This is probably the biggest threat to us. This is why CDZ has been able to deal with them (and I have heard that they like each other) and maybe make an alliance. This is greatly cutting down on anti-Fanatica bureaucracy. This puts us at a terrible position. Divided C3B is weak, but a united C3B can be unstoppable.

Second, the presidential election is very important this term. Master has become “fed up with the game” (probably from the Joker thing) and will not run for a second term. The ones who are running this term are Krasan and Cassio. Krasan’s current stance on the alliance is unknown, however I do inspect it to be learning toward war. While Cassio has always been pro war against Fanatica, in a zealous manner. With him in office, it is not a matter of will he will attack, but how fast he can bring up the troops.

Third, the foreign office has changed. Jones for some reason has decided to move on. (Thank God, I hated his English.) Right now SilverWolf (former ambassador when Joker was ME) and TheCat will be running. SliverWolf is Portuguese, not Brazilian, and from what I have heard he is slightly deceitful and sly. But that is what I hear, from my experience he seams ok. Ms. Cat is rather familiar to us. She has been ambassador to Fanatica for three terms. Many people have been trying to get her to run for this office for quite a while now. During their last term, she was asked to be ambassador to CDZ. This will be a compromise, as she can work with both nations too.

During my talks with C3B, I have discovered that they think CDZ is a nice team. They have surly traded with them, and an alliance is coming soon. This is strengthening anti-Fanatican relations, as this shows that a war against us could be successful, with help from CDZ. Due to the anti-Fanatican feelings, it will bypass the bureaucracy of C3B. They will not be angered at the short time it takes. Therefore, I ask that that we do our best to be friends with CDZ, and make C3b look bad.

This term will surely bring a war soon. However, if Cassio is elected, we have a higher chance of winning a war. From what I hear, he is fanatic about war. He has no past experience in the military department, so we do not know how good he is. Krasan, however, has worked in the military department for this past term. If he is elected, he may be forced into war, and could do a good job at it. Our ability to control this election may be a little limited compared to last terms. However, if we get C3B angrier, we may be able to get Cassio elected, and win a war. But his fanatical nature may play against him, and Krasan is a very levelheaded person. But we will see how much that is a factor in the election soon.

The Joker case has brought much hatred toward Fanatica. Even though he has been proven guilty, many do not accept it. Joker did say two times that he did not do it during the trial. However a few citizen have remained in contact with him, and he still denies it. This makes us look like we did this just to get into the finals, and hurt C3B. Even the smartest people of C3B deny it. But this cannot be helped form our angle. And a ruling is a ruling, no matter what.

Not only am I ambassador to these people, I am their friend. I just pop in these questions when we talk (often not civ-related) and over one term, I get a lot of info.

Ok...then this is how I see it. We must assume that either they will not have an alliance with CDZ or that CDZ will not significantly help them. The reason is that, if my assumption is wrong, we would lose anyways as we are not capable of defeating both civilizations anyways. So... assuming that CDZ and C3B have only a warm and fuzzy relationship, but are not going to have an alliance against us (or not a worthwhile one), when will C3B plan to attack and with what? I suspect that they will not want to trek across a bunch of wilderness with a slow army, so they will come by ship. That means that they will have to make those ships, and I doubt that they had more than the two that are currently in our territorial waters before the Joker incident.

Thus...they would need at least 5 more ships to make a credible threat against us. I believe that they will come from the west coast (else why keep ships there to watch for our fleets...and anyways we will easily detect an east coast fleet). So...how soon can they build such a fleet and get it to their most SW city?

CDZ-C3B alliance may or may not happen, but I think it has many chances to happen. However, a naval attack from CDZ homeland is unlikely, untill they can cross it safely. What I am talking about is aid via money and techs.

As funny as that would be, not a good idea.

If we were to put anyone else in the seat (other than me) then:

#1 We will need to say he is king for both CDZ and C3B, and I do not want to lie to either. If we were to lie to CDZ though, and they find out, then they may not trust us. But if we tell CDZ, and not C3B, they will tell them and it will all be for nothing.

#2 I think the King should be active in diplomancy, and I do not want anyone else but the king speaking for the king and Fanatica (nothing against Goonie in this case, but it should be only elected people.) And if he is active in dilpomancy, and not elected to that job, that is not right.

#3 It may get C3B a little irritated, but since this pretend king will not be in diplomatic chats (for reason #2) it will do nothing. C3B is on a path to war, and there is not much we can do to speed it up. If we really want to destabalise C3B, I can do other things.

But I must say I am getting a bit irritated that people do not want us to announce the goverment. They tell me who is in office over there, and if we do not do that same, they may not give us too much info over there. If you guys can give me hard proof that it will help us in a resonable manner, I will not tell them. But otherwise I will.

TENTATIVE ELECTION RESULTS OF CIV3BRASIL

PRESIDENT: Krasan
WIth Krasan in the seat, I do not know much of what will happen. He does not show that much if still pro-peace. But I think he still is a little. But war can come even with him as President. Chances are that he won because Cassio is a little, let's just say, fanatic, and not so planned out as Mr. Krasan is.

MINSTER OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS: Carclasa (I forget how to spell him name)
This position is very important, as it is next in line after the presidency. He won uncontested, becuase, in cats words "No body wants to have to manage 100 workers per turn" But he has had run ins with Cat and other, but from what I hear, he has taken a back seat now.

It was a hot race between Cat and Silverworf. Both were ambassador to Fanatica (cat was long though) and fairly qualified. But I hear SilverWolf. Cat gave me a friendly warning that he is sneeky and sly. When the two of us were ambassadors, he seamed of though. He shouldn't have won though.

[C3B Internal Democracy Game] The Seth Team (cat's team) is currently at war with Krenakes (SilverWolf is team leader.) Krenakes team all voted for Silverwolf. So this means that this little war in the JDDI (internal demo game) effected it greatly. Even though there are only seven on Krenakes, Cat lost by two votes. [/C3B Internal Democracy Game]

He will pick an ambassador, but like I said, Cat hates him and vice-versa, so we will see a new face around.

Only info is that he was part of the former Center-Left Party (Pro-War.) From what I hear, it is a meaningless job.

I think you misunderstand me. I want you to do most of it (because you were elected too, and I have other things to do) But as a good king, I will come to chats, and so on. Just like it has been for a while, the ambassador should not do it alone.

Let's do our best to pull the woll over there eyes. There is a way that we could make it seem that Goonie. All we need to be is very organized so that Goonie will know more than he does now so that he can act presidential but without being presidential.
