C3C PBEM : "Junot" - Napoleonic scenario-based PBEM

See no. 308 above, we have not made it around since so it is still close to those numbers.
You should see how I am going as Britain. I am almost the same number of points as France and yet it is only turn 34 and I have a massive lead over my nearest rival. My points lead is over 23,000. :wow:

France got an early jump on Britain in this game, nearly over ran them until the Ottomans balanced the field a bit. Austria has been fending off a Russian invasion that has subsided of late (cracks about stacks of Hussars not withstading, those bloody Cossacks are a serious threat).

Score this turn - VPs and Power.

Fr - 37410 2256
Ru - 23685 2817
Br - 20045 1770
Au - 15355 1576
Ot - 12315 2207

The Austrians are last in power and second to last in VPs. How do we correct this? Gang up on the leading Fench? Exact revenge on the evil Russians? Or finish off the struggling Ottomans? Hmmm, decisions decisions..... Being surrounded on all sides by current and potential foes makes a misstep deadly.

Lots of action this turn, probably not for the best in the near future.

First a badly planned attack on the English troops near Medina. I went stupdily for the overkill (trying to destroy everything and capture the artillery) meant I lost 5 guards and 1 voltigeur killing 2 cav, 3 guards and 6 redcoats (1 cav retreated). Only good news is I got a new army but that does not make it up for the lost guards. Of course I did not finish ! That's a good use of conscripts.

Also killed a guard in Amsterdam (guess the cemeteries there are full or the soil is heavily fertilized) and sunk a MoW South of Ireland.

Against the Ottomans, killed 2 Sipahi (1 retreated) and 1 janissary and captured 2 artillery and 3 workers (lost 1 voltigeur). In the mountains north killed 1 janissary and 2 other sipahis (lost 1 guard).

Both bad and good news for England in this turn.

Hamburg was surrounded by overwhelming forces of both our enemies (especially the Russian stack was fearsome). Altough it was well defended, we decided to leave the city. Don't know who will get there first.

Not far from there we had a great victory versus the French near Amsterdam, killing their entire attacking force (3 guards, 5 voltiguers, 1 army of 4 guards) and capturing 10 precious artilleries. We lost 1 redcoat, 3 cavalries and 2 guards, 6 cavalries have retreated.

I have lost the count of how many units have died near Amsterdam since the beginning, both French and English.

Note: sorry guys if I'm slowing down things a bit, but I currently can't play on Wed, Thu and Fri and I regularly receive my turn in those days ;)

A message to the French Ambassador:
Sir, as you well know, peace is unacceptable at this moment. You know what the conditions are: give up all spanish cities to the legitimate ruler.
As a punishment for your arrogance, the 'rochefort' of Turin has been razed down to the soil. I wouldn't underestimate the determination of the Turkish army: now the pass to France is open....

GPS

If you mean you razed teh city then you must play the turn again. We have a "no raze" option in this scenario (as we have no settlers).

argh >_<

I remembered Toulouse being razed but that was from the AI I see... I'll play it again later (damn I had had a lucky turn :P).

That's what I call a rightful reaction ! :P

Replay: Turin conquered, for now...

I razed Turin the first time I played but it's against the rules of this PBEM, so I had to replay.

Glub ! I have played my last turn almost 10 days ago..
Don't let too much time pass, or I will forget the brilliant strategy I have came up with :D

Onedreamer : sorry to make you replay but without that rule I would NEVER have left Turin hardly defended like that !!! ;)

Killed 6 redcoats in Spain, captured 3 artilleries, killed another redcoat near Amsterdam.

Killed 6 sipahi and 1 janissary, captured 2 workers and liberated Turin. Lost 3 voltigeurs (conscripts).

Was away because of unexpected RL trouble. Sorry !

np Lou, it was my bad actually !

Reinforcing defences, moving troops, etc

No GPS yet, onedreamer did you get the mail ?

just played it.

I have again my wednesday and friday evenings free, so I should play more often again.

Aples: killed an Imperial Guard and lost another Janissary... got my first GML though :)
