I only have one settler down yet. I've managed to find a single non-marsh square in the middle of a huge marsh, and it's right next to a river!

I started in an area of hills and Mountains. I built my first city last turn, the other 2 settlers are still looking. I've spotted some good land to the southwest if all the other settlers wandering around don't beat me to it.

It's a standard-size, so I don't think there will be territory issues for a while.

Do Flood plains and two oasis squares help? Should have cities two and three planted this turn...

Floodplains IIRC are just deserts with rivers next to them. Right-click on the square to make sure if you want the fcs (or scf or something...I'm new at this acroynm concept. Either way it's Sheilds/Commerce/Food). They give disease and kill off your citizens, though, until you get Sanitation (Or some other tech...I forgot again )

@ MSTK : I think Gnarff was actually teasing us with his wonderful location... rather than truly asking for infos.
And BTW IIRC you can cut down on disease if you irrigate, disease usually appears if your citizen work an unimproved flood plain or an uncut jungle (so you can sort things out in the city view.

Gee, that's a lot of enemies to make all at once considering I have one city and two warriors. Peace would be nice for now.
