Heavy bombers destroy the barracks at Manokwari.

NOTE: F4 and everything else works fine for me.

Pacific

Macarthur, after surveying the battle site, name that two square, Ironbottom for the number of ships sunk there, but no time for grieve and celebration as airplanes pounds Davao, killing at least 3 citzens and destorys Harbor and Granary and also two planes park there as well as the PT boats and DD there.

In Tokyo, the reality of war hits the Minister as Heavy Bombers fly overhead and bombarded Tokyo, destroying granary and Barrack. What will the the Japanese do?

Unfortunately there isn't that many turns left in the game... :(

No much news this turn, just rumours that Commonwealth and Netherlands are having conflicts, refusing to trade with one another.

Seppuku and disillusionment have literally ripped the heart out of the Japanese war machine.

3 destroyers and a cruiser are lost when they encountered submarines while patrolling the seas of the home island itself.

The emperor handles the news with the stoicism of a Shinto master. “In three weeks victory will be ours.” He says confidently to the stunned general staff.

Troops at the front continue to throw themselves at the enemy with increasing recklessness. At Davao badly damaged torpedo bombers dive at the small American landing party. Damage is light, but the marshy terrain plays hell with the wounded and many soldiers have to be evacuated. The second squadron is intercepted and destroyed by fresh pilots in brand new airplanes. Naval fire also finds its mark, but by the time the ground attack commences the good luck has run out.

3/4 Marine kills 4/4 engineer
3/4 Marine killed by 2/4 MG
3/4 Marine kills 2/4 GI (Marine promoted 3/5)
4/4 paratrooper killed by 1/4 MG (MG promoted 2/5)
Attack called off

The only bright spot is an insignificant encounter offshore. In frustration, a PT boat squadron races out and sinks PT 109, then escapes without injury.

Turn 28 to Cloner

The USNavy response with another hellish volley of fire, greatly damanges the defender and sunk a DD as the tanks landed on a hill then airplane bombarded Mendo, in which 1 pt boat sunk and the nearby Transport and DD was also sunk by aircraft. Near Philpine a PT boat was struck down by subs.

In the Pacific, the vengeful USN laughed planes to search for the BB and torpedos planes sunk it when one of the bomber flying overhead sighted it.
Meanwhile Mendo and Davao continued bombarded and bombed as well as some cities in Philipines although the damnged is minor.

On Davao, the tanks attack, the paratrooper fought hard and it destoryed one tank, but two Div were killed, and then Marines stromed ashore killing the paratrooper who were cut in between the tanks and Marines and well as two Div of marines defending Davao

Peaceful fishing has been thriving in Japan since the war opened. But since all watercraft have been commandeered to replace transport losses, it is usually done off a pier or bridge.

Turn 30 to Cloner

Sorry for the delay, it WAS a hard week for the U.S.
In the Home front, the news of the dead GI Div. and Combat Engineer team had anger the pubulic opinion, the death toll is way to hign, and many were complaining and the war effort in Atlantic did not help either. The U.S. Governemnt are trouble.

This Week, The GI attack the bombarded postitions of the Paratrooper and overwhelming it while the Nippon was attack by a decimated Tank Battallion but too successfully overwhelming it with help of heavy bombardment and heavy air support.

The Marine Div. participated in Davao assault was rushed to Mendo and they too attacked, but worn down from the previous attack, they were not as effiecient and one Div was trapped by the reminant of 3 Paratrooper, by the time the reinforcement arrived, the battlefield was bloodied by two dead Japanese Paratroopers and a Marine Div was wipe out. The Navy retailate by bombarding other cities including Kapalang(I think that's how you spell it) , they destroyed a courthouse and the BB station there, also Torpedo planes sunk the DD and Transport opposite side of the island

North of the fleet two PT boat was sunk by destroeyers.

The bombing of Japanese continued but this time only barrack of Osaka was bombed.

After Naval bombing, 3 Marines (2 Vets + 1 Regular) tried to take Bjandermasin, but failed miserably. 1 Jap Marine was KIA and 1 was redlined, but the city defenders resisted the amphibious assault. Reinforcements have landed nearby.

We regret to inform that 2 British Marines have been KIA in the operation and their families will be informed.

Nice war everyone. This scenario is definitely an uphill battle for the allies, but you are coming on quite strongly now. Luckily I've been saved by the bell as it were by victory points.

I sent one of my previous saves to you both with password so you can look at what defenses would have faced you. Indonesia and the Philippines would be back in allied hands soon.

I hope we run into each other in another game someday. So long.

The American president announce the surprising news to the public that U.S. will pull out of war in Pacific, and convert all it's troops to defeating the Nazi in atlantic

you bet it is, I had tons of fun too

1889, congratulations on your victory!

Your initial advances made it possible for your final victory, despite our latest recovery and our control of the Seas and Air in the past months.

I have really enjoyed this PBEM!

I do think that the VP's level is too low in this (short) scenario. I would have like to regain some part of Borneo at least!
