In a prepared statement, The CHinese Foreign Minister made the following remarks about the recent Chinese Victory at Chengdu....

"We would be remiss in not mentioning our beloved CW and US Allies that have supported us in our fight against the hated Japanese"!!!

The Victory at Chengdu would not have been possible without the action of CW Aircraft that bombarded the Japanese fotrces prior to our successful attack.

And the approach of US naval forces are certainly drawing off support for the Japanese on Chinese soil.

Although this is a great victory...we fully expect a possible Japanese counter-attack and so we have established a fairly mobile reserve force that can be used along the front where needed.

Again..thanks to the continued support of our Allies who made the Chengdu Victory possible!

GPS (hooray)

US forces launch their much anticipated invasion of the Philippines. Due to overcrowding in Filipino waters, US Marines were unable to reach and secure a beachhead for further troops, so attacked the town of Cebu directly, following a massive air and sea bombardment that crippled the defence and destroyed two planes on the ground. A Japanese marine, infantry and SNLF unit were all killed in the attack, but the town remained in Japanese hands as Marines slunk back out to sea to attack again in the morning... The marines took only one damage, which was from heavy artillery fire.

Bombers also attacked Japanese troops near Manilla. One bomber was shot down by a zero.

An IJN PT boat east of Hue was bombed and then sunk by an ASW DD.

More bombs fell around Tokyo, destroying a road and rail into the city.
