C3C PBEM : "Zama2" - Rise of Rome scenario-based PBEM

In 310BC the forces of Macedon resumed their advance, and the city of Zela falls before their might. However, the hoplites are concerned, as scouts spotted Darius himself, leading an army of the infamous Immortals toward the city. Two waves of horsemen rode out to disrupt him, but none returned...

Darius was tring to be nice but, the macedon has become greedy. Darius and one fellow calvary demolition two of the captured city defenders. Leaving just archers left to hold the grounds of the new spoil

Now that you ask.... Alexander is indeed still kicking! He was quietly biding his time, waiting for the moment to strike, and the appearance of Darius and his Mortals ;) proved to be just such a moment. The battle was suprisingly bloody, for such a wounded foe Darius fought quite valiantly, sending Alexander's army into the red himself, but the Hoplites emerged victorious!
(After the epic struggle of armies, another archer was lost before a wounded horse finished off the Persian horse to claim the field of battle.)

Very 'nice' battle :goodjob: . Thanks for the screenie Justus II !

The citizens of persia mourn over the loss of darius and the imposing preasure brought by the nasty macedons and the diseases with them. There is secret gangs of rebellion in attempt to stop Alexander the great. Will another step up in place of darius?

The Macedonians have encountered a significant setback to their plans. While their northern forces suceeded in taking Sinope, losing an archer against a couple spears and archers, the southern forces were defeated in a bloody battle at Antioch. Two defending spears were destroyed, but many more remained, and the Macedonians mourn the loss of two bands of swordsmen and three precious hoplites. :(

However, their valor in battle was sufficient to inspire the mighty Egyptians to join their righteous cause, to overthrow the yoke of Persian oppression and liberate the peoples of the Near East. (Rumors of a cash incentive were quickly denied) ;)

The Siege of Olbia on Sardinia

Our army continues the siege for the 2nd turn. Another Numedian falls to our legion's assault as the Carths hide behind their walls and their maiden's skirts

Naval Battles Off Of Messana

The citizens fire their catapults on the galley off shore and weaken the veteran galley. Our own galley sets sail to do battle.

Peace With Celts
Despite accepting copious amounts of gold from Carths, the Celts are eager to make peace after losing several Gallics on their attacks on our Northern cities. Me thinks Carths put money on the wrong horse

In honor of the celebration of Christmas, we had a turn of Peace on Earth, with no battles during Macedon's turn. :) (In spite of Persia's treachery, in pursuading the Scythians to break numerous agreements and declare war on us!)

This year we had the beginning of a new era in Carthaginian Prosperity. We kicked off a golden age as the great Hannibal appeared and slaughtered a pair of Romans. Hannibal then snuck off into hiding, to once again strike from the shadows. :mischief:

Slaughtered My Ass ! :p

Siege of Syracuse

Legions captured woman and children who were defiling the bodies of brave Romans who died in battle from the thief Hannabal. We then used their heads to rain down on the defenders of Syracuse. It had the necessary effect and 4 or 5 units of feeble Numids and Spearman died.

Island of Sardinia - Olbia Captured !

Roman legions attacked the walled city and were surprised to find only one numid defended it ... it was captured and the people rejoiced. Carth women are especially good when they scream.

Enjoy your short lived prosperity ... the legions are coming the legions are coming.

Just to have it logged somewhere to be used against me;P. I abandoned one city to ruin the greeks hope of adding yet another city to there collection
