The submission process has been updated to allow for Conquest submissions. Currently C3C 1.00f, C3C 1.02f, and C3C 1.12f submissions are acceptable. C3C 1.12f is highly recommended for play, and games need to be completed entirely in one version in any case.

Thanks Aeson!:)

For the record, does the gpt bug exploit is ok or not ok for the HoF? Because the AIs are usually trading like crazy among themselves, the gpt bug would often make them very rich; of course, we could easily rob them for all their gold without much of a problem. Therefore, one way or another, we are going to benefit from that bug. Is it ok or not ok? If not, then may be version 1.00 and 1.02 shouldn't be allowed.

With the number of changes made in C3C I don't know just how things are going to work out. 1.00 and 1.02 games not intentionally exploiting the gpt bug (ie. paying gold for gpt, and vice versa) are going to be acceptable.

Games which are played to exploit the gpt bug may or may not be acceptable. If a game isn't comparable due to use of the gpt bug, it will be taken out of the HOF, much like games on the larger Huge maps. To make a ruling on this, I'd first have to see what is possible with and without the gpt bug in comparably played games. Your Sid game seems to point to it being a bit overpowered, but I think there may be other methods to hit the Domination limit on Sid around the same time, once the FP and corruption issues get worked out.

I would suggest everyone use 1.12 because it is a more balanced and fun game, and there won't be any concerns about whether the game is comparable or not. (if following the rules obviously) I just don't want to force anyone to use a beta patch just to qualify for the HOF though.

The reason I'm asking about version 1.00 and 1.02 is because I have a game where the domination limit of 4506 tiles with plenty of cows near the starting position too.:) It's really sad to abandon it becuase it will be a long time until I'm able to generate such good map like that. Since it's at the milking point (right around 1200 AD), I'm kind of debating whether or not to go all the way with it. In any case, I didn't trade much gpt with the AIs; therefore, the total benefit from the gpt bug is mininum. Of course, it was also really fast game too, I got to around 1200 AD in only three fast sessions. Therefore, I don't plan to start a spoiler thread for it. Guess what? It's also a Chieftain game - you can start laughing now.;) In any case, with a domination limit of 4506 tiles (thanks to Dianthus for the new Mapstats utility), I think it will be #1 on the Chieftain slot.

Yup! Civil Engineers is absolutely great!:) Each Civil Engineer can produce 2 uncorrupted shields, with just enough of them in a city you can pretty much piling enough shields to finish almost any building within about 20 turns or less in any non-productive city. And after finishing up the hospital and mass transit, those guys would become great taxmans too.:) Exactly why I'm not complaining too much about the corruption bug.

Are 1.15 games going to be allowed for submission?

It seems as though this will be the last Beta until end Feb. at the earliest (the first 'official' patch).

Until Aeson posts otherwise, we're capped at 1.12.

Having played a bit with 1.15 it will be ok to play with. I'll change the submission page in the next few days to allow for it.

Given the frequency of the beta releases over the past couple weeks I just wanted to wait and see what we would end up. It was looking like 1.15 would be followed up quickly by at least another patch, but that's been cancelled.

Thanks Aeson; I really didn't want to go back to 1.12 'in case' I got a game going worthy of a HOF try.

BTW have you considered the impact of the more effective Courthouses/Police Stations?

You couldn't have timed the news better Aeson, I''m still generating new pacifist maps! Now I can patch up again...

BTW have you considered the impact of the more effective Courthouses/Police Stations?

Yes, and the OCN buff the FP gives too. I think they offset the 'loss' of the gpt and FP rank bugs somewhat. Also, with the more effective specialists the impact on cities will be less noticeable. 'Corrupt' cities could be productive when using Specialists. Now some of those 'Corrupt' cities will be more productive in a standard sense, but not terribly more productive compared to how they could be utilized before.

Since this is supposedly the corruption system that will stick, even if it wasn't balanced it would be necessary to allow games using it at some point.
