Hi all,

Before I can proceed much farther in integrating material from the space colonization mod into the main C2C mod, we need adequate artwork for space terrains and features. I have some throwaway art now but need something better. Can anyone design some space terrains, or alternately, is there another mod from which we can take them?

C2C has pillaged reused art from most other mods that allow it. Most of our existing space terrains are from Final Frontier if I remember correctly.

Sorry I forgot about this. Here's the list of map objects that need artwork. In some cases art can be recycled from existing terrains. It's a lot, I know.

As planets are seperated by space, I think (for starters) you can just copy earth terrains:
Saturn looks like dunes, neptune can be tropical coast, venus looks a bit like desert, Saturns and Jupiters moons can use differnt lunar terrains etc. It's not perfect, but good enough, in terms that these terrains would be clearly distinguishable.

I might do that. Right now all space terrains are the same as terrains that already existed, except sometimes with palette swaps. I'm inclined to add the terrains, features, and improvements as they are, despite the fact that some will have very odd appearances, so I can move ahead with adding the rest of the space content.

Opinions?

There is a graphics thread which has a lot of terrains in it 200 at least. Some would be useful for "hot" terrains with molten rock and stuff. I did look at a couple for the snow terrains. here

@pepper2000 Do you know Space Engine program? Its free Universe "Simulator" software.
You can make screenshots of every object you need for terrains and features.
This way you don't have to start from ground zero with 2D terrains :)

I'm interested in looking into this. Can you provide a link?

These looks really nice, and some of them will be good for planets and moons.

I was not aware, but it looks awesome.

Here is download :D

There are also few spaceships too - simplest one allows you to traverse whole solar system in weeks by constantly thrusting, while most advanced one, alien type, allows you to fly to Andromeda in fairly reasonable time of 25 minutes (advanced warp drive good enough for Virgo Cluster Tourism - 300 MLy/day!) :D
Apparently it has no upper limit - if you accelerate while in warp drive mode you can travel even faster!
