Hello, Sir!
What would the possibility of a Civ4-based Call to Power game coming out? And how do you think it would be? I've never played any of the games in this series, but...

Highly unlikely. Call to Power II was not strictly speaking a civ game, since they'd lost the rights to civ by that stage. Even if they made a Call to Power III, they couldn't call it Civ, or base it on Civ. Frankly, given the second Call to Power was a fairly poor game, I don't think there's, much interest in a sequel.

Not a chance.
I can only hope that Civ V incorporates some of the better ideas from Call to Power 1, like sea cities/transport tubes and the space layer.

hahaha yeah, I bought the game, started a game and never finished and never played again... *zzzzzzz*

I prefered Call to Power 1 to number II, slavers were fun, and very overpowered :p !
Also loved a certain wonder taking over your civilization! Damn Al Entity or whatever it was called..
Really though Call to Power I was just so easy, played on hardest difficulty and won 95% of games hands down, 5% loss due to starts on islands only big enough for your capital, and where you cant leave the island since surronded by ocean! Damn madagasgar starts :(

Loved the public works though, it made plenty sense, water and space cities were really good too, another thing messed up though is when you cities are at 100% happiness they would not eat any food because they were happy, and at 100% happiness they always were celebrating, meaning instead of normal 20-30 size cities, i had cities size 150 :D

Call To Power had interesting concepts, but was a poor game.
If you got Call To Power II, try:

So, i don't think there will any CTP3.
Oh you said you don't have. Ah well, they still have some copies to sell in that site anyway...I guess the company of CTP gave them some copies for free(or almost), because the only way worthy of playing CTP2 is that mod.

Call to power series was innovative & way ahead of its time. If it wasn't for the weak ai it would have blew civ3 away. Even today most of the game concepts should be in civ4.

It might not have been best strategy game I ever played but it certainly was 1 of the funnest.

If they did come out with a new ctp game I would welcome it with open arms & I would bet a lot of civ loyalists would hate the game before they even tried it:sad: .

Man just think in civ4 you could.....

build actual armies instead of units
Have a legit public works system
Have the option to go way past the modern era
Movie Wonders
Like the others said, water cities etc
Units you can actually use to your adv that aren't military.
The list goes on & on:crazyeye:

Agree.

Yes.

Have the option to go way past the modern era

No, whould make the game way to big, focus game development to present time, leave the rest to modders.

Movie Wonders

Yes.

I found water cities extremly boring and that they condributed very little to the game. So no thanks.

Units you can actually use to your adv that aren't military.

Depends.

Bigger and more is not always better.

And how many more times are we going to be willing to replay the same old time periods over and over again? Frankly it's getting boring.
One of the reasons Alpha Centauri is so loved is that it brought so many new things to the table beyond gameplay mechanics.

Civ could potentially go even further yet it's stuck in the same old rut.

CtP II was better than Civ 3, even though it was made before. It's problem was that it had a garbage AI and was full of bugs; the developers released it before it was really finished, and gave up on it before it could even get going. It also wasn't marketed well, reinforcing those problems. It's main problem hence was business related rather than simply game related.

The game may have a sequel years down the line if someone buys the title and develops it. Who knows. But there is no prospect of such in the immediate future.

My first Civ exposure was CtP I, then CtP II shortly after (they were released, what, eight months apart?). At the time, I thought the games were amazing. Now, however, they're only okay... I infinitely prefer Workers to Public Works, never really liked the army-on-army aspect of CTP, and especially not of CtP II, where it became 12 Veteran Tanks really, really easily. I don't see why wonder movies are being brought up, that's more a matter of personal taste than anything else... Besides, Civ4 has wonder movies, also.

I dunno. I was exposed to civ the same way. First with CTP 1 and than CTP 2. I learned to add mods and thought it was the best game since buttered toast! I would love for them to make a CTP 3. I just reinstalled the game and patched it up and loaded a game. I forgot the voice telling my settler 'How bout here'? It was more micro managed I think. I could click on a city and que up a list of units or buildings for that city.

I also like when you had a trade route with another city or resourse you had a blue line linking them and saw on your screen the resource going back and forth along it. When you got your navy or such you can blockade this route and the AI would send a unit over to push you off his trade line. Also I liked the graphix and the overall handling of the game.

However at the end of a long game it was quite buggy and would stall/lag while the computer would catch up. I still have fond memories of it however!!

Bring it back or incorporate some ideas into Civ4!
