Can custom game settings be saved?

I'm playing vanilla Civ 4 - can the custom game settings be saved or for each new game do you have to review the settings every time?

Not so sure about vanilla, but it should work the same. Once you set your custom options and start a game it should save those settings. Also, some settings can be set in the INI config file like difficulty, speed, etc.. you can check this, ofc, the next time you start a game, either by starting it via custom options or checking the options in-game.
