I need these basics requirements for a bar:

4 functional wheels
1 functional steering wheel
some kind of a seet
functional breaks
functional engine
Outer frame with working door

Can I get this somewhere for $500?

For $500 you can get a 69 Dodge Charger with 3 flat tires and one rim. No engine, the body of the care with plain gray paint. Shreaded seats, no audio system. No axel and muffler and cardboard windows with additional missing head and tail lights :D

But seriously, your not going to find anything that runs for under $500.

you can't even get a bicycle for 500.Beaters start around 1500.A nice 83 Reliant K for example :)

You can definetly find something for under 500 dollars that is still functional.

It's just all in the timing. When someone really needs to dump a car and get some quick money, you could find something decent.

Coincidentally, my sister just sold her 87' ford tempo for 500 bucks. Good engine, new wheels, decent paint job, radio, only 97000 miles. Course it was to a well known neighbor.....

Have hope, but if you expect to get something decent for under 500, youre going to have to do some work or get really lucky.

Right - start canvassing everybody you know (even if you don't know them well - coworkers, for example), put the word, out, because eventually somebody will know someone who knows someone else who is dumping a car on the cheap.

Ooh boy, I'd say save more money, cuz "you get what you pay for." With certain things this is true, and I think cars is one of those things...

You can have mine for $499.
Just come and collect :D

In England you can get something that runs and that is "MoT" certified for a year for less than £500. Easily. Don't bother getting any repairs done. At the end of the year junk it and get another.

Hell I'm movin to London! They got any good hockey teams over there? :)

Yeah, the British hockey team won Olympic Gold in 1988
But I guess that's not what you mean! :p

They did? ICE hockey? You not talkin bout field hockey, are ya? Is that even an Olympic sport?

Yes they did! Field hockey of course.
Field hockey was first played at the 1908 Olympics.
Ice hockey had to wait till 1920.
And yes of course I knew you meant ice hockey.

My philosophy entirely. My last car cost me £100 and lasted me 18 months. Of course, at the end the exhaust was tied up with rope and the n/s front wheel bearings were shot but hey, I only live 1/2 mile from a scrap yard, a 5 minute job to get rid of it. :D

PS: Anyone got a 3/4th gear synchro for an '89 Nissan Micra? I seem to have broken mine...
