For some reason the BTS intro movie doesn't play well on my computer - very skippy. It's the only thing that doesn't - wonder movies play just fine, for example. Is the intro movie available as a download or even available on youtube? I'd really like to watch it at least once.

It should be somewhere in your Civ IV folder. I forgot where it is, but you need Bink Media Player to watch them, as they're .bik files

EDIT: Found it, try looking at BTS, then Assets, then Art, it should be under Movies, then Intro

Thanks - now any idea where I can find a Bink player? I googled it, but the only versions I can tell are players are for mac. (I'm probably missing something completely obvious . . .)

Hm, when I went looking for the movies before, the movie folders all appeared as empty. I thought this was because I did not have an appropriate player and so the files were not recognized. But after installing the player the folders are still empty. What gives?

I think your looking in the wrong folder? Try My Comp/local disk (C)/Prog.Files/Firaxis/CivIV/BTS/Assets/Art/Movies/Intro

if the main movie is not working well for you, try going into the game settings and switch Anti-aliasing to 0. Also, there is a menu for movie quality, set that to low. That fixed it for me.

In the CivilizationIV.ini file there are some advanced options that should help with your problem. (Skip frames when falling behind, interlacing, etc.)

My BtS wound up in My Games somehow - nothing under program files. And there's nothing under Assets but four folders titled "assets(0-3).fpk" that likewise show up as empty. Custom Assests contains Art > Movies > Intro, but again all the final folders show up as empty.

This one did it! Thanks for the help, everyone.

The irony is that the whole of the intro can be seen in the trailers for BtS.
