Can only see my territory!

Hi guys,

I'm relatively new to CIV 3 (and therefore this site) so if I'm asking a question that;s been answered before please forgive me, but I have looked REALLY hard, honest! I even asked Jeeves but he just offered me a list of places I cuold get polaroid cameras and a fan site for off-road rallying

Anyhoo, I decided to download the 1.29f patch for Civ 3 (Vanilla) (I think that's the latest patch) and I also grabbed a nocd patch to save effort, and to protect my gaming from my 4-year old son! But when the nocd patch is installed I can only scroll to the edge of my territory! I literally cannot move the window to view anywhere other than the territory inside my cultural boundary!

Is this normal? I don't get it without the nocd patch so I suppose it's not...

Sorry, can't help for two reasons: this site doesn't support piracy (nocd) and I have no clue. Perhaps it can't be that bad to actually use the CD, even if you have a 4 year old? You *are* allowed to make a personal backup copy provided it stays within your possession.

Try it with your original Civ3 disc. If you still have the problem, then you have a legitimate issue on your hands. OTOH, if it is the crack, you're out of luck here.

Well although I don't support piracy, you do have right of one backup copy. And for that you need nocd patch. But even with patch you must have CD in cdrom (at least backup copy). Or you have one poorly done patch. Find another patch, or reinstall and play with original CD.

NoCD patches are, as far as we at CFC are concerned, piracy. No matter what the reason.

Really? How can it be piracy? I've bought the game, I just want to make it less hassle to have a quick play, and prolong my Civ 3 gaming for more than the average lifespan of a CD in my house That's probably not an issue for this forum though.

Cheers for the help! I'll try to reinstall again and use the original CD (or maybe I'll take your suggestion and make a devilish copy!)

Because running the nocd patch allows for people to install and play the game without paying for it.
