By the standards of online music discussion, sounding old isn't the worst thing you can do. It's safe. Entrenched in its own staleness. When somebody chimes in that they're not like the other kids at school because they like cool edgy bands like Led Zepplin and Nirvana, then it will be time to drive the thread onto the rocks.

perhaps swift's choreography marginalized/favored some of her dancers or there were ethnic tensions amongst them that allowed perry to "poach" (a possibly/completely baseless allegation) some of them. in any case, "she/he/they started it" is a sufficient justification to feud and pick sides until reparations are made or one of them is eradicated...
