Can Someone Please Explain to me How to Play This Game in LAN Multiplayer?

My friend and I have tried dozens of times to work this game in multiplayer but we face the issue of not being able to see each other when we start lobbies. I've looked around and the only fix people have is to set up LAN systems but I don't know where to start. Can anyone help?

if you have a Steam version of the game, then you can join the game.

When we do a "join lobby" action it launches the base game instead of the mod and doesn't work

you need to register the launch of the mod when the game starts. already written about it on the forum.

If you're referring to the command in steam to launch directly to the mod that doesn't work in this instance, when joining my friends game through invitation it always launches base to get there even when I'm in the mod already

alternatively, write the path to the modification in the CivilizationIV.ini file. but it is strange that the recording in Steam does not work.

Where in the ini file can I edit this? I found "
; Specify a Mod folder (Mods\Mesopotamia), '0' for none
Mod =" and set it to
; Specify a Mod folder (Mods\Mesopotamia), '0' for none
Mod = Mods\WTP 2.8.2

Would this do the trick?

Have this doing too - write the mod path in the ini file, all players, and we have no problems to play MP matches .... the imho best solution
