Im new to this forum and to Civ v...anybody out there with some tips? I cant figure out how to share maps with other civs

the guy is asking for help playing the game, not a civ5 critique

there is no map trading but if you get open borders you can scout out their territory. when you get to satellite tech you get the whole world map

for player relationships you have diplomatic overview - global relations (or something like that). you can see wars, declarations of friendships and denouncements. you can also go to an agreement history screen and see who is trading with who

but you can't see a hostile, guarded, friendly breakdown of what each civs think of each other

for game tips try the civ v strategy section of the forum

In my opinion disabling map trading is a huge mistake.. I really liked map trading in earlier civ games. It made me want to invent navigation as fast as possible in civ3 ;) I never really bother exploring the other civ's territory in civ5. I just explore the shores with my ships and find out where their cities are when I am conquering them as I find building scouts rather boring.

also, is there a way to see the relationship of the other ai civs with each other?
No. I don't think there's even the casual, "Let's chat about (insert civ)."

Ugh... I can see how you say dumbed down for other points (though I would disagree) I just dont see how you can say something is dumbed down because there are no map trading.

map trading, and tech trading have always been a part of the civ games starting with the ones I have played civ3 - 5 taking them out further dumbs down the game.
