Cannot Declare War

Hi,

I am a seasoned Civ 4 BtS player, and I have played quite a bit in the past. Recently, I just reinstalled Civ 4 BtS again. After a few games, I encounter a problem, which I couldn't find a solution to. I did a search in the forum, but there hasn't been any cases that is exactly similar to mine. Hope someone here can verify whether this is a bug or not.

The problem is that I cannot declare war on my opponent, Ragnar. He is Friendly towards me, but am not my Vassal nor do we have any previous war with each other. I also have not paid any tributes to him. I cannot think of any other previous actions that could prevent me from declaring war.

Any help would be appreciated.

You have a 10 turn peace treaty with him. You probably traded for gold or a world map or something like that. Wait ten turns and all will work out fine.

(you also have open borders but I canceled that to see if that changed anything. This is what brought him down to pleased.)

Thanks for the swift response. I've tried it out and it is indeed as you say. Thank you so much....... Hmmm, I really don't remember striking any deals with that guy Ragnar. Nevertheless, thanks again.
