I just got the game and wanted to install it onto my computer

the first disc went smoothly, and after I put the second disc in, the program went "Not Responding" and pretty much killed the computer. when I turned the computer back on, put in the second disc all I got is the file in the disc showing up.

and now, whenever I put the first disc in, it tells me I can play the game, and then shows all these errors (Duh, it's not installed all the way):

Failed Loading WML file Assets//XML\GameInfo/CIV4PlayerOptionInfos/xml

LoadXML call failed for GameInfo/CIV4PlayerOptionInfos/xml.
Current XML file is:

So... I tried to uninstall the game... went to control panel, and Add or Remove Programs. well it's not in the list... then I checked the fire folder under Program Files to see if there is a way to uninstall it... no luck...

Well... if ANYONE can help me get rid of this game so I can reinstall it again, or anything that can help it would be awsome :( I really wanna play...

I don't think it's my computer's problem... or at least I hope not it's brand new about 2 month ago.
Dell XPS Pentium 4 CPU 3.00GHz, 1GB of RAM, 256MB PCI Express x16 (DVI/VGA/TV-out) ATI Radeon X600 SE HyperMemory (T.T ATI issues, I know.. but how can I just get rid of the game from the computer? ><)

I have the exact smae problem, call tech support at 866-219-9839. I;ve called twice and they were supposed to send me an email but i haven't got it yet. THe gal I talked to said that they are having huge problems with installs, thousands.

I also had a problem uninstalling. I went to use the uninstall utility in Control Panel, clicked on Civ IV, and Remove, and it would prompt me to insert the Civ IV disc, etc.--bottom line is I couldn't do it the normal way.

But I did finally do this way: Insert Disc 1 (it may be disc 2 in your version). If it autostarts, exit the game but leave the disc in. Then go to MY computer, and highlight the drive with the Civ IV disc. Go up to the File menu click on it and then click on Explorer. This will show the files on the Civ IV disc. There should be one titled "Setup". Open up Setup. When I did that it gave me the uninstall option and it went smoothly from there.

Seems pretty odd to me that there is the uninstall problem (I've seen other posts on it in this Forum).
