cant delete a file

I naughtily downloaded something in Kazaa. Now I cant delete it, I get the 'in use by windows' message. I scanned the folder with Avast but it doesnt detect anything. I tried getting rid of it in safe mode but no luck. Any ideas?

I had a similar problem with a mod install file for OFP.

I was eventually able to delete it after I reinstalled Windows. If you don't want to do that, or it doesn't work, all I can say is use a bigger hammer.

Usually a reboot solves the problem. If it's stubborn, it should die from rebooting with a Win98 system disk.

Well what came around this time was a solution. The link ainwood posted had the solution Aphex, looks interesting, I bookmarked it for later perusal.

I read a few days ago that apparantly, if you use an Amiga emulator and configure it right, you can delete the files using that as it disregards Windows "File in use" thing. Probably involves using Workbench and whatnot
