cant found a Religion

started anew game chose Japan as haven't played them in awhile.
Got my faith points to found a religion but the Found button is not highlighted.
What am I missing?

There is limit for religion. afaik, in standard map 5 religion can be found.

you can check how many religion can be found, from faith page.

Edit: also, your Great Prophet must be in city tile. if your prophet next to city tile you can't found religion.

When you say "Got my faith points to found a religion" what do you mean? It is not enough to get to 200 faith; you need a Great Prophet. Has a Great Prophet spawned yet? Once you hit 200 faith, you have a random chance of spawning a Great Prophet on subsequent turns.

GP is in my Capital- Religion page says 4 more religions can be founded

Browd: passed the 200 and got pantheon then got to 610 to get GP

Try moving the GP out of, and then back in, the city. (Stupid, I know, but it might work.)

It's the special ability of the Great Prophet that you need to use. There is no button in the religion or city screen, you have to select the Great Prophet unit and then you get the button to found a religion over where the move/attack/autoexplore/etc buttons are-- it looks like a domed minaret.

Catan; i'm in the found religion screen I have all but Buhddism and Christianity available the "Found Religion" button in the lower right corner of the screen is not highlighted, so I cannot Found a Religion only cancel out and I cant end my turn as I have chosen the Found Religion option from the main screen.
I did move my GP out then back in to my Capital but to no avail.
I then went back to my prev auto save hoping if I delayed my Found option a few turns it would allow me choose a religion but know luck.
i'm now replaying the game from the beginning to see if this was a glitch or the whole game has a bug

Ohhh you're on that part of it. Ok so you need to select a religious symbol (from across the top) then a founder belief, and then a follower belief if you want to ungrey the Found Religion button.
