Can't get more than 10 experience points

Hi folks,

sometimes my units cannot get beyond 10 experience points. I have patch lvl is 1.52 and for several units (i.e. Scout, Axeman).

The savegame attached shows an Axeman (10 Exp. points) who defeats a barbarian archer. He should get at least 1 Exp. for that but doesn't get any.

Any idea why?

You can only get at most 10 XP from fighting barbarians, and 5 XP from fighting animals. This is to prevent barbarian-farming and having your whole army have 25 XP and 5 promotions without really fighting.
