Can't Install, get "display driver not compatible w/ display adapters" message

I can't even get it to install--after agreeing to the user agreement etc, it begins to install an ATI driver, then gives me a window which says "the display driver is not compatible with the display adapters installed in your system." I would like to get the game installed so I can try the ATI download fix, but I can't. So I don'tknow if this is connected to that problem, or is a different one altogether.

I uninstalled my driver software and install the latest Omega version, as suggested on another thread. No help.

I have an ATI 9200 w/ 128megs ddram, a p4 1.6 ghertz 512 meg ram computer, and a samsung synchmaster 152T monitor.

I have plenty more, and more detailed, system specs I could provide if someone wanted to help!

Are you sure that it begins to install a display driver? That seems very strange.

Can you perhaps post the DXdiag output here?

Absolutely--erm, actually, the civfanatics site says I can't post that many characters (60000+), max allowed is 20,000. Can you tell me which part is pertinent?

Thank you--your question prompted me to dig around again on the install cd, and I tried accessing the install program directly, instead of through the "install" button on the window which opens when you install the cd. Now, why that button should lead to an ATI driver install, I have no idea, but I don't care, because it is working!

I feel like a kid, I am so excited. If any other problems come up, I'll post them, for sure. Until then, thank you.
