Can't load mod game saves, "This application has requested the Runtime..."

When I try to load it, I get this message: "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way."

It then crashes to desktop. Something on my end or a bug?

It's probably due to a known bug in the saving routine .

Same issue with me. I'm on a 950 turn game (48 hours playing) and the game crashes when loading my save or when going to next turn on autosave 1 turn before.

Yes! That's my issue exactly. It was an awesome game and I want to finish it, but I imagine there's no recourse, right?

I realized that my problem was related to the 70 cities limit. I raised a few smaller cities and was able to keep playing.

It's my problem too. started with 8 civs and 20 city states, after turn 137, crash crash and more crash.
