Can't search the forum?

Was this feature turned off, because I can not run a search? If so that is a huge shame, because forums of any kind are a lot more useful if you can find old discussions.

If this was talked about before, I am sorry, I would have looked for it, but....um....search is not working

Yep

It was turned off because the forum performance was being adversely affected. There's a bunch of discussions in the "Site Feedback" subforum, if you want the whole sorry tale.

It's been promised it will be restored, one day.........

Yeah, the forum search comes on and off alot. You just have to be on with TF turns it back on to see how it effects the forum performance.

Also, threads about the site overall (search feature, changes, etc.) would normally be in site feedback.

Sorry about that... I am still waiting for Telefragged to upgrade the forum server a little more.. hopefully we don't need to wait too long for that.

For now, I will enable search for everyone on weekends.

Great.... Now I can finally search for what I need to... The forums has far to many posts/threads to search for anything manually.

I would think it'll be less stressing on the server on weekdays.... That is.... if my reasoning is correct... There should be more people on on the weekends than the weekdays, thus it'll be easier to turn on search on the weekdays.

I don't understand why it was turned off, make it so you can only do one search every three to five minutes... (it was 90 seconds). Also, only registered users can do a search, right?

Question for a mod...

How many searches are done at CFC on a typical day (before it was disabled)?
