I'm playing a 3 continent map as Greece, Large map, default # of Civs. On my continent were Hatty and Monty. Of course, Monty declared war on Egypt. Hatty came to seeking Vasslage, and was at war with Monty...who I crushed and then also made a Vassal. This was pretty early in the game, and i own about maybe half of the continent.

I've since started a war on a new continent against Japan, who is weak. I've conquered what seems to be the non-core half of the empire, plus the capital. It is at this point he wants to capitulate.

Now, what is the thing to do? Do I accept his Vassalage? In which case, do I keep my conquered Japanese cities, or spin them off to a new colony?
Or do I wipe them out completely, in which case...do I keep what I have, or spin that off?

I'm in first place, and have the UN. Not sure how I'm going to win, but with so many vassals, isn't domination going to be tough? Japan shares border with France, who looks like they are trying for Culture win (got boned in my last game by this) so I have to take them on soon anyway.

What do you think?

BTW...this is my first game with 3.13 and the unofficial patch. So far so good.

Just conquer the rest of the world, vassal everyone and win via Conquest.

Well I figure I'd get Domination win before a lengthly Large map Conquest win. And I'd probably get a Diplomatic win (because of the Vassals) before Domination.

So it still doesn't help the Conquer/Capitulate/Liberate dilemma.

if you make vassals you can win by conquest and quicker sometimes than domination... having all other nations as your vassals counts as a conquest victory. it's quicker because you can stop fighting one guy and quickly move on to the next.
