Caravel glitch

I just started to play civ col. and downloaded the new patch. My starting boat (caravel i think) looks like it's underwater. All you see are the mass of the boat (with no sails) and it looks like it's getting pulled by marionette strings. I'm still fairly new at civ in general and am not sure what to do about glitches. Not a big deal but just an eye sore. Can I fix it?

Have a look in the technical support forum. I don't know if there are any answers there but at least you'll see you aren't alone.

Having the same glitch. This is infamous partially invisible units bug. What I learned to do was to got to the civpedia and click on a few images of units, the caravel, native, colonist. This solves the problem but you have to do it everytime, and it must be done the first time you load the game.

I get that as well, usually with pioneers who look like axes swinging by themselves in the air. Spooky. Thanks for the tip on how to' fix' it, though.
