Castle Improvement Mod

Hmm, I can't get this mod to work. I installed it correctly (as far as I can tell after scrutinising the directory structure) but upon loading RoM none of the new buildings show up in the Buildings list in the Civilopedia. After some testing of a game and adding a castle to my city in Worldbuilder I still could not find any reference to any of the new buildings in this mod.

I have been running several other mods from Afforess and Vincentz (successfully) so to test that none were conflicting in some way I recreated the RoM folder without any mods at all, then tried again, but still no luck.

Strangely the Fortifications mod by Xionn has the same problem - the new guard units don't show up as buildable wither in game or in the Civilopedia.

I'm running 3.19 with RoM 2.71.

Any thoughts on resolution would be appreciated. :)

This is because of the changes in the way Rise of Mankind loads files. Either download the fix here, or delete all my mods and download the new Afforess pack.

Yep, the fix worked great, thanks Afforess. :)

Could you be more specific? If you mean turning the several buildings into one powerful one, it should be easy. All the art and xml is in the Castle pack. I'm assuming you're familiar with xml of course, but the files are pretty standard. Just add all the xml integers together...

Updated, with some balancing. Enjoy. (Afforess's Addon Pack has also been updated)

Great modmod:goodjob: The extra buildings help alot when the enemy lay sieges against me. Hope you keep up your great work on modmods;).

Do Castles obsolete at Explosives because of Cromwell?

In the Medieval era, Castles were huge monoliths that presented a vast problem for wars. Year long sieges were carried out many times in attempts to capture these massive fortifications. The owners of castles were often assured safety for the foreseeable future. Then comes Civilization 4. Castles are weak structures, tossed into the game as a last minute waste of production defense building. I aim to fix that. .....

It took someone like you to make this come out !!! YES m8 - excellent job ... AGAIN !!! :goodjob:
