Catalyst 5.11 released

I've held off downloading it because of the hassle, but it would be nice to know if they work better. If so, I'll get them tonight. Please keep us posted!

For several days, my computer rebooted 100% of the time on my 3rd turn into Civ4.
Last nite I installed .NET Framework 2.0 and these new 5.11CCC Catalysts and have now loaded Civ4 twice and played about an hour with no reboot or crash.
I'm not sure it's a fix. I've been hopeful of that before. It might be worth a try if you're experiencing similar issues on a similar system.
My computer: Windows XP Pro SP2, ASUS A7V600 m/b (VIA), AMD AthlonXP 2800+, 1GB PC2700 DDR RAM, ATI Radeon 9800Pro/128 (5.11ccc), TB Santa Cruz (4193) audio.
[EDIT:Model number typo]

I installed these and played a few hours without any crashing.

Before I was getting a lockup where everything just froze.

Hopefully this fixes things for people with ATI's

I downloaded these.
Was optimistic, but I did end up hanging again.
CPU usage was 98%.
In my case, I don't think it's the drivers.
Hope this works for someone else.

ATI X800XL, 2Gig RAM, AMD XP2500+ 1.84 GHz

*Going to work out my frustrations today with Call of Duty 2 (for Rememberance Day), and X3.

My biggest problem is the hang ups on loading saved games, and lockups when the game gets to the later stages. I suspect that this is more due to the memory leak issues reported by others than video drivers. The only problem I have with video are the wonder movies that are really choppy.

Thanks,
I tried these drivers, but they didnt seem to make any difference.:crazyeye:

Can anyone verify that this works with the x600 series in HP's zd8000 notebooks?

HP is not listed in the official list, but I am curious to know if the driver will work.

Sometimes, due to propriety stuff, your manufacturers drivers may still be preferred.

That is what I am afraid of - the drivers are current then, but they have been so since Dec 2004.

There is another forum for the zd8k and th zd7k series of notebooks and dtr's, I think I will check there before I start fiddling around with drivers.
