Catherine diplo screen flicker and crash

I've had a problem for a long time where Catherine's diplo screen flickers, well, I should say some parts of the background of it flicker, behind the draperies it seems. In any case, I didn't really mind that. However, today my graphics card crashed and I got crashed to desktop on that diplo screen... It's GeForce GTX 570. NVIDIA. At least that's what the error message said (graphics card failed).

Running DX11, relatively new computer that completely beats the minimum requirements.

Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

Okay, that's not the same.

In general, if you've set leader settings to high, then lower them. They need some special fancy DX11 effects on high, and not all cards seem to be able to cope with that.
