Caveman 2 Cosmos

If you have logging on that type of error produces more information in the PythonErr.log. Posting that file will help us find the problem. With all the different civs in the game some errors only happen when a civ is in play at the start so it may not be a common error. Note PythonErr.log not PythonErr2.log has the information we need.

I don't find it, I only find PhytonErr2.log, but I found this in Autolog directory of C2C Release.

BTW, why all my leaderheads are statical? I haven't put that option.

EDIT: It is the first time I download C2C. And my directory is named C2C Release.

Please turn logging on in your civilization.ini it is off by default that is why there isn't a pythonerr.log.

leader heads in C2C are static to save space on the download and keep the memory usage lower in game. At one time we did have an animated leader head file for you to download but it has not been maintained.

Yes, the person uploading it made a mistake. Just rename the directory to Caveman2Cosmos.

Getting error messages in version 26 concerning AI. I'm having trouble attaching my python error log, but it has the following lines over and over:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "BugEventManager", line 363, in _handle DefaultEvent
File "ANewDawnPopups", line 49, in onBeginPlayerTurn
NameError: global name 'localText' is not defined

As noted, these four lines are repeated in the log not less than a dozen times.

Download and install the patch, that fixes this error.

Try redownloading, it sounds like you got a corrupt file.

I downloaded the file via Torrent, and get the same error message. I have no idea why, but .25 is working fine for me. I suppose I'll see how .27 goes.

The portraits of Philip II and two Brazilian leaders (Vargas and other) don't work. Only that plain pink appears in the image. Last SVN version, fresh install.

Yeah, this has been mentioned at least twice in the Bugs thread. It has been in since at least SVN~3520.

In my last game (v25, which I had to abandond) I noticed text/info that said that Ambushers could infiltrate a city for espinoge points.

How do you do that? If I try to move him into an opposing city I just get (sucidal) combat odds.

If you are at war you can not. When you are at peace you can as then moving into a neutral city with a hidden nationality unit does not initiate an attack.

Cheers

Ahh.... so if playing with minor civs you pretty much can't use that function. OK, thanks.

when launching the game, I got popup error messages saying that "tag CIVIC_PATRICIAN in info class is incorrect" and similar. they reference to xml files in some leaderheads folders. this concerns civics parliament, patrician and aristocracy and leaderheads Adenauer, deWitt, Theodora and Van der Donck. I did not have this problem in v.25. I'm using the addon custom leaderheads, which is no longer downloadable on this site, so I figure it's no longer compatible or something? is this the cause to this error messages? by just clicking 'ok' on popups they disapear and the game launches ok. after quitting the game and relaunching - no popups, but they reappear the next day, when I'm launchung the game again. Is it going to persist until another version of C2C? probably the solution would be to simply remove those 4 leaders from the 'custom leaderheads' folder, but it's not a perfect option. can it be solved another way?

england and germany's flags have problem.

england is all red and germany is all black.

The civics changed greatly in v26. Those civics have been replaced by others so the XML needs to be changed. As far as I know all leader heads, but not the animated leader heads are now inside C2C so there is no need for the extras.

The animated ones have problems so are not supported at the moment. If StrategyOnly, me or someone else can figure out how to have the animated leader heads with the smallest possible change to the XML then we may be able to have a download back. Basically it would be ideal if all that changed between the animated and static leader heads was the art define and the art files. So that all that was in the animated download would be the directory structure, art define for the animated leader (which over writes the static one) and the folder containing the animated graphic files - per leader. That way the only difference and maintenance problem is the graphics and therefore the pack would be much easier to keep up to date.

thank you, Dancing Hoskuld! this explains it.

Does anyone know where the wonder movie files can be downloaded from?

I'm getting fed up of just getting a blank blue screen.

That means there is a bug and you should report which ones are just blue. I a only getting one and no matter how much I look at it I can't figure out why that one is blue.

Here get all you want, but you got to know how to change XML movie files also.

http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=108

There is no need to change any XML files. If you use the version of long movies we have in the SRN because the long movies replace the short movies ie they have the same name.
