Well, appearantly in my absence, someone started building a Great Wonder Prebuild. Thats nice. Wish someone from Culture had done something discussionwise, but you can't wish for everything (as I painfully learned after a ride).

So... let's get a look at the country now, shall we?

As we are aware, our army was victorious, allowing us to build the Heroic Epic. This can't be done in donsignia, of course, as it is 14 turns away from something (thats point B). We have 2 military wonders, actually. We can build both the Heroic Epic and the Military Academy. I am going to leave that second one up to Domestic, as they must find a city that shows the potential of being a big shield (or should I say hammers?) producer. So that ones off the backbuner for now/next term/not my problem.

Heroic Epic. This is a 200 shield small wonder that can really help us out. We have 6 cities that can produce +10spt. 1 of them, donsignia, is pumping out a wonder (point B). That leaves:

• Husborne County
• Bently
• The Black Hole
• Camelot
• Oxford

Of those 5, I'm using mayoral privalege to MM Oxford to only 9spt, but w/ growth, so it stays on the list. Discuss which one of these cities should get the Heroic Epic.

Part B: The part you've all been waiting for.

What are we gonna build in this city? We've got two very nice wonders we could play with, Leos and Sistines.

We all know the benifits of both of these wonders, so I feel safe in saying that we can skip over this part. What we have here is a question of what do we need more? Do we need doubly efficient cathedrals (note: as of this point, we have none) and 6cpt or 1/2 price upgrades and 2cpt. If we wanna keep waring, then yeah.. Leos. If not, Sistines.

Choice is yours.

well, how long do we see ourselves conquering for? The plan was to take over up to Gordium or whatever persian city that was and then work on culture wasn't it? We've still got a bit to go if that's the plan, so I'll say Leos, and if we think we can still get it, then sistenes in another city.

As for the Wonder pre-build. I would like for us to head straight to economics and use the Pre-build for Smith's.

Leo's is probably fairly useless in this stage. We'll be upgrading knights to cavs in the coming few turns, after that there is very little to upgrade except for a few pikes and cats. Really not worth the investment.

Sistines is not bad I think. We can get WLTGD everywhere to help fight waste.
MOTH's idea might also be good, but requires us to research two techs.

I agree Leo's is now useless. Upgrading a Knight to a Cav costs all of 30 gold; big deal if we get Leo's and cut it to 15. Our army is so small that the cost of building Leo's far exceeds the benefit.

Sistine's would be good; as zyxy says, triggering WLTGD is a good thing.

I want us to build Smith's but remember this will trigger our Golden Age. I'd prefer to do that when we have just learned Steam Power (railroads) so our increased production will occur at the best possible time. Besides, we'll still be fighting for a good bit of this term. Triggering our GA too early means we'll be spending part of our increased production on guns rather than cultural buildings: a waste, IMO.

Sistine only works if we have Catherdals in our cities, which none do. Even if we do, it a waste in my opinion because we have 6 luxuries. That an equivalent to a catherdal with Sistine backing it up. Even better with a marketplace. A lot of our cities are WLTGD already. So...why build either one of them. I suggest we build another wonder like Smith Trading company but that will trigger our Golden Age.

I agree that it's too early for Smith's (one of my favorite wonders). Leo's would have been nice to have 10 turns ago, but now? Why bother. We have the gold to do any upgrading we need. I'd like to have Sistine because having it would almost force us to build cathederals. Remember, folks, we're trying for a culture win, so we want to build culture producing stuff like cathederals.

In short, Sistine gets my vote by default.

Ok... Due to lack of time (my fault) for a poll, I'm going to assume we want Sistines in donsignia. As for the Heroic Epic, its placing doesnt really matter too much, so in it goes to Husborne. I have a feeling that may end up our Military Academy site too.
