I bought Civ 3 and all the expacks (including PTW, which is redundant) from a Scholastic catalog for 20 bucks.

Anyway, I patched Conquests with the full 1.22 patch found here, and it says it can not find the disks.

PTW and regular Civ 3 load fine.

I suspect PTW is responsible, as when I got it I did not know the Conquests already had it built in, Im going to try and uninstall it and reinstall it without using PTW.

Im also going to try patch the original.

If anyone knows another cause, speak up.

Cheers.

If you bought Civ3:Complete, you do not need to patch it. In fact, patching complete will cause it to not find the CD and produce this error.

When you reinstall, see if the title page says '1.22' in the bottom left corner. If it does (for Conquests) then you don't need to patch it. 1.22 is the final patch level.

And I call myself a computer specialist, and I didnt bother to check the version.

Though in the readme it didnt specify a patch was installed.

Thanks!

Conquests shows a 1.00 version, the regular Civ 3 shows 1.29f.

I tried patching it, I get the same error.

Sorry about the double post.

But that would be piracy, and as such not supported here.

at this case it is not because he paid for the game and cant use it.and need help for it.it is a piracy if you dont pay for it and use it. :satan:

Turkish Guy,
I suggest that you read your license agreement more fully. Any use of a no-cd crack is piracy and goes against the principals of your license agreement. If you want a valid no-cd crack then you need to get it from Firaxis or Atari. Good luck on that.

In any event, we at CFC don't condone no-cd cracks, whether the game is pirated or not.

We have an excellent relationship with both Firaxis and Atari. And hopefully TakeTwo once they start producing Civ4. We will do nothing to harm that relationship, and condoning the use of no-cd cracks for whatever reason could harm that relationship.

If you have a legitimate need for a no-cd crack, then you can go to Atari and ask them for one. Good luck, I hear they give them out very rarely. But they can be had.

if you prove that you have the cd in cd-rom drive and the error massage in your screen (that is very easy to do it.take a screen shoot both ).and if you send them both to atari they will send you a no-cd crack.

My CD drive can't read any CDs anymore because a CD blew up in it. Now I use a external CD drive.
