I'm back! 
I say we integrogate him for information (if he doesn't talk, kill him), then we make him spin a web so we can tie up his legs and carry him on a pole. We'll cut off his body parts that spin webs so he can't escape, restore his health, and then bring him along in case we need him. Who knows, maybe he can fight bad guys alongside us.
Also, I'll join you guys. I'll pick up a stick on the ground and make a spear out of it with a rock. I AM a Source you know!

I will take the spider legs and make them into spears for anyone who wishes. Also, we could figure out a way to use them as projectiles if need be.

Gah, sorry guys, I've been pretty busy lately.
So anyway...the group moves on into the tunnel with this strange spider named Shnare. On and on the walls never seem to change: grim, hopeless, and with no end. Suddenly, however...there is a light! You all eagerly rush toward it. The outside!
You stop just in time: over the edge is a deep chasm! When the adrenaline finally subsides, you see that you are in a small cavern that is split in two by this bottomless trench. You are cut off from the other side by it. Now how are you supposed to go?
With a flash and a poof CivCube appears once again. He scans your despairing faces and nods at the chasm. "So you don't know how to get across? Fear not! Remember your abilty...your ability to do anything. The ability to take a risk!"
The strange fellow creates a number out of the stuffy air.
Bottomless Chasm - 4
"This is a difficulty level," CivCube explains. "One takes this and adds it to their Ability rating, then find the average. I will roll-er, find your fate and see if the result is above that. If it isn't...well, if it isn't...maybe you shouldn't know." CivCube chuckles to himself in a way that you're not sure is pleasant or not. He bows to you.
"And now," he says, "I leave you with a formula." He bows once again and disappears. As he vanishes, you can swear you heard a ever-shrinking faint voice call out, "Don't forget to check the front paaaage...."
