CG2: Conquest, No Transports, No Airlifting

Here it is. China is at war with Russia and constantly defending from barbs. Also, due to time constraints in my personal life I only played 15 turns

(0) 825 BC- Polytheism bought for 260g from Egypt
(1) 800 BC- Shanghai builds setteler
(2) 775 BC- Tienstin founded South of Shanghai
(3) 750 BC- We agree to an alliance with France vs. Russia. Nanking builds settler
(4) 725 BC- none
(5) 710 BC- We defeat a barbarian camp and take 25g. Beijing builds a settler.
(6) 690 BC- Foreign Advisor reports that the Iroquois civ has been destroyed. Our warrior defeated by Russian swordsman on the N landbridge
(7) 670 BC- We pay Egypt 175 g for mathematics
(8) 650 BC-
(9) Tsingtao builds Spearman
(10) 610 BC- Civil Disorder in Shanghai, entertainer hired
(11)590 BC- Tienstin builds Spearman. Order restored in Shanghai. Temple built in Shanghai. Nanking builds Archer. Xinjian buiilds Swordsman.
(12) 570 BC-Beijing builds Swordsman Regular Swordsman killed when attacking conscript barbs outside Xinjian.

Taking of a famous quote by Augustus Caesar: Mao must be saying "Naervod, Naervod, give me back my legions."
Damn I thought it would be an easy vic.

(13) 550 BC- Canton builds barracks. Hangchow builds Temple.
(14) 530 BC- Swordsman defeats bards SW of Xinjian. Archer killed by barbs south of our borders. Ur builds warrior.
(15) 510 BC- Embassy established for 37 g in Babylon.

File is too big and I can't upload it. Next player, can you give me your email so I can send it as an attachment?

Naervod, you're supposed to use the easy upload feature and link to it if your file gets too big. Now I've just got to find out where that option is ... this is only my first succession game after all. Perhaps cg can help.

EDIT: Found the info I was looking for. At the bottom of the forum page is the following collectin of links:
< Contact Us - Civilization Fanatics' Center - Forum Rules - Chat Room - Upload File >
Click on Upload File, upload the save game, then link to it in your post.

See this administrator's post for details.

Sorry guys, I accidentally unsubcribed this thread, and I have to take a hiatus for all of my SGs for now (school... ). So:

Theos--->Up
Zarth--->On Deck
SimOne

CG

cg, unfortunately, naervod dropped before he could upload his last save. Should I simply start from the previous turn, or replay his moves (as described in his year by year account) and then play 15 of my own?

Okay, it turns out that following Naervod's play-by-play was impossible (for many reasons). I don't think it's possible unless you have a training day type write-up. So instead I started over and made my own decisions...

In an alternate timeline...

(0) 825 BC - I changed around a few build orders and Shanghai produced a settler.

(1) 800 BC - Tientsin founded SSW of Shanghai. Shanghai produced a settler.

(4) 730 BC - Barabarian camp was dispersed.

(5) 710 BC - Meet a Russian swordsman. We have tech parity with them. Tsingtao built a temple.

(6) 690 BC - The French founded Chartres near where I wanted a city, so a slight change of plan. Chartres secured an iron source.

(7) 670 BC - Tatung was founded in the midst of the jungle now. Its only redeeming feature is that it's on freshwater.

(8) 650 BC - Another barbarian camp dispersed.

(9) 630 BC - Macao founded near spices. We'll have to wait for it to expand, and link it up, before the spices come online.

(10) 610 BC - Discovered Polytheism. Canton built Barracks.

(11) 590 BC - Taxes to 2.7.1 for max research and stave off revolts. We began trading...

Russia: We gave Polytheism+37g for Map Making+TM
Egypt: We gave WM+7g for TM
Babylon: We gave WM+33g for TM
Japan: We gave Polytheism for WM+40g
France: We gave WM for WM+20g
Russia: We gave WM+115g for Mathematics

The Egyptians have the biggest empire (comparable to us). France and Babylon have slightly smaller empires and the French have run out of room.
The Japanese are struggling with a very mountainous and jungle-infested empire.
The Russians are ... um ... screwed. :p They have only one city and they're being boxed in by the French and us.

(12) 570 BC - Russia and France signed a peace treaty.

(13) 550 BC - Nanking and Hangchow built granaries.

(14) 530 BC - Shanghai built a temple. The Egyptians began work on the Hanging Gardens. So they have Monarchy, but it is too expensive for us.

Here is the save for Zarth...(with Sim_One on deck)

...and a view of the flourishing Chinese Empire.

Down to only three men, we sure could use another player. So if there are no violent objections, we'll put you at the end of the roster - after civ_steve who's due up now.

Of course, I meant Sim_One
At least he was on the ball enough to realize it was in fact his turn.

So the current roster is:
Theos
Zarth
Sim_One
Sealman
...

The last space is reserved for cg whose game this is, if he's able to come back at some point.

GL for your current turn, Sim_One

  • No loading land units (or helicopters) onto sea units
  • No airlifting
  • Conquest victory only (though others are enabled)

We need to get to the other land masses by helicopter or paratrooper. CG's guaranteed us that these other lands will be in range.

Sorry guys, my hiatus will have to continue. I may not be able to come back into this game. I think this is the new lineup:

Theos
Zarth
SimOne
Sealman
(Open)

I'll be glad to take a new recruit.
