Well, that didn't take too long ! Congrats on on knocking her dead, Aggie

Yes, I knew I was close, looking at the map. In fact, I played two turns more on sunday before I decided it was getting too late. Stopped when I only had to capture the last two cities and press <enter>. 
The temples that I rushed on our main continent really helped, along with the cities built in the open spaces.

On my last turn, I told you guys to finish it before it got back around to me. Missed by two turns... eh, I guess you're still good enough. 
And our Coalition won by liberating Baghdad and Basra? That's too good! 
7100 score? Highest yet in my Hall, believe it or not. (I rarely play large maps; this was only the second large-map score in there.)

I looked at the save. We never did get Magellan's, and didn't even get the Golden Age? That would explain why it took long enough that it got back around to me.
Also, I think in the end we bumped up against population rather than territory for domination. Our pop in the final save is 31 million. I estimate the Iroquois population at 12 million, and Carthage, Scandinavia, and Arabia (before we attacked them) have around 3 million each. It was probably capturing the last couple cities' worth of population rather than the tiles that put us over the top. (Someone who uses Mapstat - I don't - could say so for sure.)

Ah, I see now. (I searched for "Golden" in the page which didn't find it. ) Also I was somehow under the impression that the Man-O-War was at Navigation (which we didn't get) instead of Magnetism. 
Yeah, that's how little I ever think about the unit.

Heh, we were lucky enough as it was to even find a target for a Man-o-War ! I never found out until this game though that navigation isn't even a required tech for anything (other than opening up transoceanic trade of course).
Good game guys. Really fast finish considering we never went to war until knights and we built a lot of infrastructure like cathedrals and stuff.
I checked mapstat. In the 1170AD save we were 8 tiles from domination and 35 over the population mark. So yeah population was close but it was territory we needed as usual. I really don't think we could have knocked it out before your turn came around unless I set up the galleon fleet earlier than I did. So you can chalk it up to not knowing if we'd need the other continent or not.
We need to try something harder if we do this again.
