Challenge-V-02

I do not make vids, but I still have my autosaves turn by turn. You can request it if you want...?

I'd not agree on this. IMO controlled environments are necessary to make games more comparable, it's just a question of which controls are used.

If you are referring to XOTM's, those are controlled environments too, but the player still has to cope with many unknown variables, whereas the HoF players under some gauntlets/challenges/random games for HoF table will choose the best conditions to ease the win, i.e. get the fastest dates. A HoF is partially blind and a (S)XOTM player is entirely blind. That is why I think they are right...

If you think that is you, you are wrong. :) It is not a HoF player (like you), but better let it up.

I didn't really think it was me, but I'm glad its not a HoF player.

No, only the deity part matched. However, I was recently (1-2 months ago) very unfair to another HoF player and apologized for my insensitivity the following day or sooner.

Perhaps, I responded just to let you know how well read your posts are in nearly every HoF venue.

That part was useless after all, but he somewhat insulted the HoF party and I got flustered. Looks like controlled environment kind of games are totally ridiculed by some.
I guess they are right.

They are wrong! All Civ4 competitions with clearly defined rules that challenge players to win (early) are valid. We can make a judgement call that some competitions are better than others, but as long as the competitions are challenging, no one can fairly say they are pointless or invalid.

EDIT: Btw, why do you think I would even target you? :dubious:
If it has to do with the great vizier comment, you got it wrong...nothing nasty was intented.

No, I liked your Great Vizier comment. It implies that you are historically grounded and is a testament to your humour, credibility, likeability and especially charisma. It doesn't matter that it was intended for someone else.

Of course you were not targeting anyone; you were just expressing some frustration.

Agreed, 100%!

This will be my last off-topic post in this thread. Please excuse them. Thanks TheMeInTeam for the earlier reminder that we are a bit off-topic; I'll agree that my posts in particular are clearly off-topic.

Was watching TheMeInTeam let's play of the game and decided to try his tactic. I included 3 other random civs (which was Shaka, suleiman, one I cant remember)

HA rushed everyone.. which worked untill about 1000 AD when i met justasin's chicked pizza + cataphrach.

My finish date was 1510 AD with score 127983. will do the next one in this series soon. Great challanges :)

ps. My scores arent official Im waiting for a new civ copy in the mail before i can install the buffy mod required. Hope its okay still that im sharing my scores :)

Of course.... we all like to boast share. :goodjob:

Looking forward to seeing some official entries from you, the more the merrier. :)

.... and all is forgiven Sun Tzu Wu.

The hell! Shulec...200 AD is a really strong date for not popping HR. Props.
Looks like you are going into imperialistic mode as I noticed the increase of games you posted.

I wonder if I should...nah not now...

175BC (assuming accepted). Didn't pop HBR...might have popped a couple of other early techs and some gold/maps.

I rarely go for domination, so I played through a couple of failures to improve. Still didn't time it right at the end...if I counted tiles I could have won 3 turns earlier. Tachy would've been

Also failed on my Oracle->Fuedalism gambit by several turns, so that slowed me down quite a bit. Instead of teching Monarchy, math would have improved chops for faster/increased numbers of HA.

I can see winning the 400BC-500BC range if I kept at it, but no time.

On to challenge 6 so I can get the other dom game out of the way.
