I changed the look of modern roads and I'm posting it here in case anybody may be interested in downloading it.
I found the default, black, modern roads within BUG to be a bit too "bold" and distracting.
Basically, I changed the jet black to grey (80% black) and the lines from yellow to a very light grey to soften them up. They can still be easily distinguished from railroads.
Just download the "mod_roads.dds" file and place it in the Modern Roads folder, located in:
...\My Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword\CustomAssets\art\terrain\routes\Modern Roads
