I haven't loaded an autosave in eight years of playing Civ3.I never go looking in the auto folder.
Well, it would save you having to do all those saves by yourself... It does only do beginning of the turn saves, but I don't mind much, I rarely have to reload anyway.
I usually just have the one save, unlike some of you, I'll occasionally make a backup if it's a very long investment of time (When playing scenarios like AoI or WWII). I don't mind so much losing a game sav, of course I haven't lost any yet.
