Does anyone know if there will be any cheats and/or trainers for Civ 4 as there is for Civ 3???

I doubt that Firaxis will make one, but I'm sure some enterprising fan will have one shortly after it is released.

cheats for civ blow.

"Trainers" only inhibit you, and train you to be dependent on them

Cheats should not be in the game, or in any game ftm.

Can that annoying guy be punished? If not for spamming and mutilating the english language with that wigga-lingo, then for cursing on the boards.

Moderator Action: I've already dealt with him. If you see posts like that, report them instead of talking about them on the forum.

EDIT: Alrighty, thanks, Chieftess, I just saw that mod action on the other forum. I'll heed this in the future. :)

Well, I certainly hope that the "cheat mode" of AC/Civ2 will be here.

I wouldnt imagine it will come with a cheat or trainer. But if it does come with an editor i guess you can do it all through that if you feel the need. Either way someone will create a trainer for it within days of its release. I certainly hope it does not come with on built in or if it does it shows up that someone is using it on multiplayer ?

Someone will undoubtably write a cheating program shortly after Civ4 is released. Not too likely we'll see cheating built into the release version of the game by Firaxis (wouldn't you agree they have more important things to be working on?) ;)

Just keep in mind that the quick and easy route to victory holds little achievement or lasting value...

The 'cheat' mode as of Civ2 would be great. Please bring it back.

Not for playing, but for scenario design and testing.
Civ3's debug mode wasn't anywhere close, with no options to select. And, you couldn't change the map here anyway. Or switch the Civ (I know, Hotseat - but then, you don't have the debug abilities).

Exactly.
But I would prefer the AC one. Even better done, with much more options.

In fact, AC is the most polished game of the serie. There were countless details and options that lack seriously in all the other games.

Leave them out. People who become too dependent on them are no fun to play with and they dont enjoy the game as much.

Cheat mode is not going to benefit anyboby in a good way. Game should be game not cheat collection.

I should go deeper into my opinion. In my opinion the lower levels shhould have a limited 'cheat' ability as to be of some help to users who are brand new and cant get the hang of it. OR, there could be cheat modes for every difficulty but they are again very limited(VERY!) and they affect maybe your score in the end like it becomes only a 4th of what you would get without cheat mode. Or your games could be branded with the cheat mode enabled banner like they were in civ 2. I certainly hope no one makes a trainer because that would make a lot of people reliable on it, which is not a good thing

-but aain, the cheat mode would have to be very, VERY limited :mischief:

Cheats should not be included. They are pointless and take all the fun out of the game. Why play if you aren't going to do it for real?
