You've probably read this before but I just had to write this down

BAN DIHYDROGEN MONOXIDE!
Dihydrogen monoxide is colorless, odorless, tasteless, and kills uncounted thousands of people every year. Most of these deaths are caused by accidental inhalation of DHMO, but the dangers of dihydrogen monoxide do not end there. Prolonged exposure to its solid form causes severe tissue damage. Symptoms of DHMO ingestion can include excessive sweating and urination, and possibly a bloated feeling, nausea, vomiting and body electrolyte imbalance. For those who have become dependent, DHMO withdrawal means certain death.

Dihydrogen monoxide:

is also known as hydroxl acid, and is the major component of acid rain.
contributes to the "greenhouse effect."
may cause severe burns.
contributes to the erosion of our natural landscape.
accelerates corrosion and rusting of many metals.
may cause electrical failures and decreased effectiveness of automobile brakes.
has been found in excised tumors of terminal cancer patients.
Contamination is reaching epidemic proportions!

Quantities of dihydrogen monoxide have been found in almost every stream, lake, and reservoir in America today. But the pollution is global, and the contaminant has even been found in Antarctic ice. DHMO has caused millions of dollars of property damage in the midwest, and recently California.

Despite the danger, dihydrogen monoxide is often used:

as an industrial solvent and coolant.
in nuclear power plants.
in the production of styrofoam.
as a fire retardant.
in many forms of cruel animal research.
in the distribution of pesticides. Even after washing, produce remains contaminated by this chemical. as an additive in certain "junk-foods" and other food products.
Companies dump waste DHMO into rivers and the ocean, and nothing can be done to stop them because this practice is still legal. The impact on wildlife is extreme, and we cannot afford to ignore it any longer!

The American government has refused to ban the production, distribution, or use of this damaging chemical due to its "importance to the economic health of this nation." In fact, the navy and other military organizations are conducting experiments with DHMO, and designing multi-billion dollar devices to control and utilize it during warfare situations. Hundreds of military research facilities receive tons of it through a highly sophisticated underground distribution network. Many store large quantities for later use.

So do you think that this chemical should be banned?

I don't think it should be banned. Considering that it is an integral part of our national defense, I think banning this chemical could lead to a catastrophic failure in our armed forces abilty to defend us. I also feel that the problems associated with removing this dangerous chemical from our great nation are too great to overcome, and would require an internation coalition that is unlikely to form given the reliance of other nations on this chemical.

We should also keep in mind that our founding fathers used this chemical, and if it was good enough for them, it is good enough for us.

The last thing I need is for some well meaning liberal group with an agenda to legislate this chemical out of my life. I won't stand for it, and if need be will fight for it.

      ;)

Oh one more thing don't give this away until we have a substantial post count OK ;)

'Tis a sheer and certain menace to civilized society, and must be stopped, banned, expurgigated and if needs be blasted from the face of the earth.;)

 Most amusing.

Yeah ban it! How can our governments be so ignorant about such a huge problem, and why didn't we hear about this a lot sooner????

:D :D :D :D
Love it!!!

The avarage housewife would fall for this, I'm sure.

Egad, sir!

I have found I am already addicted to this substance! I tried avoiding it, and in a rather short time (just a few days) I was in a doctor's office, having it delivered to me in an intravenous solution.

And that's another thing! Doctors, who should understand how the human organism works, actually deliver it to us addicts, no questions asked! I checked, and its use is not even regulated by the FDA! It is available without a prescription, often for a very negligable cost. I recall a recent case of a US servicemember dying while on a training march, directly attributable to ingestion of this substance.

What do we have to do to make the world aware of this menace?

I am already secretly working to destroy every trace of this insidious pollutant. It shouln't be long now.:scan:

I have to say I really love the follow up to this thread.

i can report that for some weaks ago a person here in sweden died after he had his head exposed to this chemical. ban it!

Of course it should be banned :D
My whole family and practically whole Finland is addicted to it.

Awful drug, thats what I call it ;)

Thankfully this insiduous chemical has already been banned in India. Very few people have access to it and more keep demanding at every possible occassion. Cant everybody be happy with just Food, shelter and clothing:mad:

I am curious to know if there us anyone out there who doesn't get this joke

Joke? I work for the EPA(Environmental Protection Agency), and my comrades in arms and I have devoted our lives to eliminating this dangerous toxin from Earth's atmosphere! The elimination of toxins to insure clean and natural lives for all species is no joke!

Give it to Jay Leno to question LA residents on, and I'm sure you will find plenty of people who don't get it. Especially If it were toned down a bit.

Not to single out LA residents, I think there are plenty of people in the world that are too stupid or ignorant to get this. The ignorant ones have an excuse...

To everyone I have only this to say: Visit this website to see that it is not a joke!!!!
http://www.dhmo.org/
This is a serious problem! Our planet is now seriously overburdened with the stuff and if we don't act now it will be too late! Did you know that milk is full of this stuff and the governments of the world could care less? It is sickening.

Thanks to GenghisK for explaining it to me before I made an ass out of myself with my lack of knowledge!

It is still free here in the states but they have begun bottling and selling it in the stores. People are able to by just one or as many as 2 dozen in a package, and what big packages they are! The people don't even know what they are doing to their bodies when they ingest this, they just have an overwhelming desire to consume it. It is rumour that animals are addicted to it and kill to obtain it. This is really out of control. Why God? Why?!?!
